I sitting in a station and I decide to buy a paint job for my anaconda. I leave the station and enter the camera suite to look at my ship and I notice that the name DELACY is in huge letters on my ship and the name of my ship next to in at about a quarter of the size. It's my ship I want my ship name in huge letters across my hull. I don't want to fly a billboard across the galaxy. Increase the size of the ship Names, and loose the unwanted clutter.

Yerp, you just did the equivalent of wearing someone else's jersey. Always thought those skins were dumb.

Preview the paintjobs before buying is a good idea. If you just view them from one angle you may not like the others.

I agree. Of all the really cool things you could create for skins the billboard skins are not it. Maybe FDev should open up a competition of ship skins, hand out the templates for ships, let community artists create some skins, and the best 5 (or 10) get put up for sale. Winners of the skins get some ark and a winning skin badge.
Just a thought. I have some GREAT ideas for skins.
