ship price balance.

It's not about being a 'veteran' yelling at clouds.

It's about realizing that making the ships too cheap to get invalidates all the ships you don't end up flying because you got the cash to leapfrog straight to the most expensive multirole in the game right off the bat.

This also makes you a much worse pilot, as you simply use muscle to compensate for your lack of skill which can only carry you so far. This is not World of Warcraft where the only content worth playing is at the end-game.

As the OP appears to get bored extremely quickly and has quite a negative tone on the forum as well, I assume that he would equip an über-ship to go seal-clubbing in Eravate...

With the game today, you can, no problem. It requires, however, that you are actually a good pilot and know how to play. That does not come in 30 hours of play, there is no level-up and handwavium to help there. So if you think that doing this in 2 (full) days of game-play is "rubbish" that simply means that you are not good enough to do it (yet?)

Don't mistake not knowing how it's done with being a rubbish pilot I bet I'd waste your ass any day.

All hail the armchair generals for their very constructive replies.

Strangely enough I do believe that the costs of the high end ships and modules should be brought down drastically, but also that there should be a commensurate reduction in mission payouts. Bring ship costs more into balance with the economy as a whole.

OK, another addition to my ignore list. You really have nothing to say that would be worth my time.

The ship prices are a bit out of whack IMO, because the diminishing returns are too steep.

What I mean is, that for $20 mill you have your fully kitted vulture or asp and if you spend 30x that much on a kitted out conda or Corvette you aren't getting anywhere near 30x the ship. More like 2 or 3x.

The so called big ships don't even really require a different play style; they are just bigger slower fighters with a few more guns, although again, no ship has even 3x the quantity of guns that an asp has.

When people first pick up the game and see the price for a $140 mill conda they assume that is surely must be a totally different play experience to their cobra or asp but it's just not true.

Conda should turn like a wet sponge, be bristling with all sorts of turrets (think 30 weapon hardpoints at least) and basically require a small wing of small ships to take down.

And it should take months to earn one.

Perhaps OP would like to try STO, where they can get into a top-tier ship in about 3 days of lackadaisical playing.

price are already low, corvette & cutter should go over 300mil in my opinion. It's almost a joke... someone with a few days in the game doing robigo run and be able to afford everything.

The thing to remember is that it would take a great deal of time to earn a Conda in a freewinder. But that's not what you do. You earn a hauler in it. Then a t6 in that. A t7 in this, python, t9, and so on.

If all you want to do is pursue credits...

Can't be bothered myself, prefer to      around enjoying myself. It's a video game....

OP, I don't know if you are playing the wrong game or not, but this game is made to take time to accomplish things. It will become a grind fest if you are looking to get an "end game" ship. Change your goals. Try having fun in the ship you are in. In time, you will have the credits to move on. I must admit, I always thought it was kind of silly for a game to be so grinding, that people were actually watching TV series while playing it. Why bother to play then? Anyway, just take your time. Each ship class has something interesting to it that can give you hours of fun. If it is the right game for you, that is!

It took me over a year of casual play (release to January 2016) to buy an Anaconda.

~40M in bounties, ~60M of mined rocks, plus some random missions and two exploration trips.

The ship's name is Nocturne, and has lots of mining lasers, as it should be. :)

Rather than changing the price of the ships that are already there I'd rather see more ships. Some nice interesting ones to fill in the massive gaps, maybe some of the ships from the other Elite games could make an appearance...

And /or

A second hand ship market would be awesome, with older marks of some of the newer ships. These could be bought in a "spares or repair" state and fixed up for sale or use.
