Ship prices

Would the devs ever lower the prices for the larger ships? (Python anaconda). At the rate im going at it seems that it will take forever to save for a larger ship let alone upgrade one. Im not very experienced in trading. Although I do have a type 6. And maybe that would be the best way to go to earn profits but I feel at this point prices are to high to be easily affordable. Especially for people who cant play often.

They've been inflating the return on investment from some of the careers; it's more likely that it'll be easier to make credits than that the ships' prices'll drop. Occasionally there'll be a discount on one, like the recent discount on Imperial Clippers.

That would be good. As a bounty hunter I make a good amount of credits but still not enough to the point that it would take a while to grind out for a new ship. Maybe I should save up for a clipper ive wanted one for a while. Guess I need to get my rank up

The ship prices are not that high, the internals cost way more. But at least you get the full price back when selling it, so its not a big problem once you get it.
The high price makes sure that people dont get anything in a week of trading/heavy grinding. The anaconda is a nice long term target.

Money breeds money. If it seems you're not making much, you're actually making enough proportional to the next ship in the chain. Once you've got a vulture (5m) you'll rake in bounties, or trade profits with a decent hauler (1m for a type 6, 22m for a clipper).

I bought a vulture a few hours ago and I am just bounty hunting to fit the upgrades I need to start with it. So basically when I start bounty hunting with a vulture I will be making more money compared to something like a cobra or a sidewinder?

If you're doing it right in a RES, then sure. I tend to choose fun over optimisation, but last time I flat-out ground RES bounties, I was getting around 2m per hour in a vulure.

I certainly hope Frontier are done with lowering prices following the pretty ridiculous slash on the Vulture. Although 4 months from Sidey to Python sounds about right.

4 months? I got to Anaconda in 1 month. If you are not getting distracted 2 months is the most it should take you playing two hours daily.

I didn't grind. There were days I didn't make a penny in my nomadic 'lifestyle'. Also, 40 days to Sgr A* and back. I do take it easy. By no means I'm preaching though, if one loves what they do or fly, I'm happy. Keeps ED alive ;)

This. Also the T6 is where the money starts coming in. Go on a rares trading route, upgrade to an Asp to do it even faster and soon the T7 is in reach. FD could cut internals prices though. A powerplant that costs more tnan the entire ship is a bit over the top. And I'd like the void between the three high end ships filled. There's especially room between T9 and Anaconda.

Yeah internal's are expensive. I've just about got my vulture how i want it and it's about 12 mil so far. Got a 5 million reward in the recent CE so will be able to finish it off fully now.

Next jump realistic is the FDL now. That's gonna take a while but tbh I never go out just to make money.

It really ramps up. If someone is making 100k per trip with 100 tons of cargo space. That same trip would net them double in the next ship, or more depending on the ships upgrading from and to. Or in something that has something like 500 tons capacity they would be making half a million credits for the same run. The more you have, the more you make.

It very much does! I'm making 980K per round trip in my Anaconda and the trip takes 15 minutes. I'm still trading at the same place I discovered in my Cobra!! So I've seen the profit progress. I progressed through the Sidewinder, Cobra, type6, Asp and type7. I'm now at 310M Cr trading and having a month off trading to go exploring and I'm currently 1000Ly away from home on route to Sagittarius A and then hopefully a big step up the explorer ranking.

The internals prices don't concern me too much. Just treat them as savings towards your next ship as you get it all back if you downgrade and sell everything off your ship before trading it in against the next one.
