Ship Reboot not restoring shields?

Hmm, perhaps I should try this again, I've not really played much of late. However, for me at least, the reboot/repair sequence totally failed to work even if I was at 0ms the entire time. Until I relogged of course. I'd not used Prismatics previously, having only used the reboot/repair "trick" on ships with regular or bi-weave shields. Even then it was uncommon for me to do so.

I'll just put this down as another one of those random bugs, that goes away after a relog. I've not really thought about it in months, until I got a notification of additional responses to this topic. Thanks to those who've put in effort to test this further.

the shield gets not up after reboot if you are under attack. sometimes I need several attempts too before the shield gets up again.

Random thought...

Could it be a power thing... assuming it's not just a bug?
I wonder if, perhaps, when you've got a marginal PP and you've got your pips set to weps/thrusters there just isn't enough juice to reboot the shield?

Alternatively (but on a similar note) I tend to fill up vacant slots with GSBs, which have issues related to power management, so it's possible the reboot doesn't work because the game won't allow a GSB to reboot itself properly, or something.

Having Guardian Shield Reinforcement Modules absolutely stops the “reboot to 50% shields” trick from working. Not sure if having just one does it or if it’s a certain number or a certain % of MJs, though.

This is quite false; my Mamba in the reboot video has three Guardian Shield Reinforcements.

I am very surprised … that never used to work and I’ve read several posts over the years that confirmed the same.

Perhaps it was a bug that has since been fixed?

I wasn't under attack, I moved somewhere quite to reboot.

Good thought, but the ship had ample power. I mean, surely the shields would not charge at all if there was a power issue impacting the reboot?

Not really played in a while, so not been back to test this again since.

many people consider coincidence as facts to imagined equations.

guardian tech has zero effect.

the biggest issue is Not stopping and/or FA being OFF for the reboot. your ship's DC usually fails to autodock if FA is OFF, for a reason.
Said it before, even a cutter can stop in time from a boost to regen shield from a reboot

extend cargo scoop and landing gear IF you think you are going too fast, while waiting for the reboot to clear, rotate nose over rear.
If you have FA off, same issue and no shield, so make sure FA is ON for the reboot.

if you never hit X or whatever your brakes are, go figure.

if power is a problem now, why were shields ok before? damage? ok, set power priorities properly.
#1 getaway device is thrusters, but a tie with sensors, cause if you cant see the weapons facing you, thrusters wont help.
I tend to set thrusters and sensors to 1
shield and boosters are at 2
everything else is bonus if it works any time. so , 3 maybe a 4...stuff that turns off and you are running so who cares as long as the ship still moves.

If you push the pp and are over 104%, good luck. your time is near anyway.
