A-grade everything, then G5 engineer it and surprise the biowaste out of anyone who interdicts you.
Hey, interdict them... why not? :D

I like the signature buzzzzzz

As for ship what are you looking to do.

Whenever I'm at an enpass I fire up a non engineered Viper mkiii and have a laugh in a res site. Doesn't always end well but it does make me smile.

Might even engineer the next one.

I'd say, 3 of my ships are really much, much different to pre-engineering

- imperial courier. combat oriented lightweight speed build with >700 m/s boost speed. because lightweight very good jumprange, too.

- diamonback explorer. that ships greatly wins from engienering. getting above critical pve speed ... opening up large weapon slot possibilites while winning from better powerdistributor... etc. It is also a great ship for engineering, because you can get to any source system in 4-5 jumps after engineering the FSD.

- cobra mkIII. currently experimenting with combat builds ... that speed while having the armour of a vanilla anaconda ... a joy to fly, but doesn't get OP (like a FDL for exampel).

another obvious posibility is a python. gets pre-nerf qualities. a strong contender for the one-ship-approach... but where is the fun in that?

I would but I've already got one.

This used to be known as the 'surprisewinder' in the pre-engineers days. Pair of rails on it, before railguns produced more heat than flying into a nearby star.

I remember a vid of one of these chasing a player in an fdl away.. It was just too funny! Even with a crap shield the fdl should have still had some juice left in it after the sidey ran dry of ammo. But no this guy got his shield hammered, lost his bottle and fled the scene..

I am working on moding out my Dropship to be G5 Clean Drive G5 Low Emision Power plant and anything else I can think of to see how good af a smuggling craft I can make it. Also moding a Vulture to use Dual Effecient C3 Beams for fun. :D

I was thinking about doing one of these up with G5 Clean drives, low power shields, etc. and make it stupidly cold running. Could be a fun ship and yes, large hardpoint.

imho it doesn't reach the critical speed with clean drive tuning, but an exceptional good roll --- or d-clss thrsuters with dd tuning might be worth a try.

What's "critical speed"? Can it hit over 450 with G5 cleans? As long as it can outrun Python's and Cutters it should be fine. I wouldn't expect it to outrun FDL's or Clippers and with that low rebuy, really, who cares?

I've had a pretty good time with the lower tier ships, like Sideys and Eagles. Make 'em lightning fast, and head to the nearest CG. Either interdict people, or wait for them to come after you. Don't bother with the trade ships, go after the heavy hitters.

It's crazy how upset the murdering types get when they can't catch you. Makes 'em feel powerless, I guess. They will talk crazy amounts of trash, trying to coax you into fighting their uber-engineered combat ship.

Leave the area and wait for a nasty message via Xbox. It'll come. When it does, take the high road. Report said message, resulting in a chat ban for the offending party. Now they're EXTRA salty.

It's glorious.

that's exactly the problem. theoretically you look at 429 m/s boost speed with cleane drive G5 (+19%), but practically you'll sit at ~400 m/s with clean drive tuning, because the DBe is heavy, and class 4 thruster are so small ...
