SHIP TRANSFER/TAXI SYSTEM

13 million cr for my Cobra IV from Colonia is a bit steep !

I think the credits cost should be halved, along with the time it takes to transfer. A 45 minute transfer from somewhere at the edge of the bubble is a long time to have to wait when you log in for a few hours play time.

I totally concur on both counts. You should try shipping a combat conda to Colonia, let alone a Vette  and as for the time delay [where is it] the people that thought that this added realism to the GAME need there heads examined imo. Thanks for that... Not.

Ummmm ..... I <cough> was one of those who voted for a time delay .... because instant transfer is a little silly with vast galactic distances but .......

Sandro imposed a much bigger cost penalty and time delay than I envisaged .....

It's not all my fault, honestly !

oh I totally voted for time delay and wouldn’t change it. I don’t think it’s too bad. Cost could come down slightly but galactic scale is measured in one thing, time. Gotta keep it feeling big!

And flying faster than the speed of light is perfectly sound science too? As I said, it's a game. I wish people would remember that some times and permit a little rule breaking for the sake of expediency. I have no problem flying faster than light if it makes the game playable in real time, same goes for instant ship transfer, but I was one of those that got shouted down.

We have passenger liners and missions. CMDRs should be able to book a flight to somewhere (transfer themselves) same as with their ships.

Or hire a pilot to fly their ship (with them in it) overnight or whatever.

More transfer options would definitely be nice, but until that happens (if ever), I've been finding my personal "commuter ship" to be quite a reasonable way to handle things.

As a basic hauler with an A-grade FSD and everything else D-grade, it's really cheap and has a great jump range for the price. With an extra fuel tank, it can usually go wherever I want without needing to refuel, and when it can't, the fuel scoop is always there.

I tend to use it in an opposite manner to how most players would prefer, however, because I usually fly my main ship (combat/trader/miner, etc.) where I need it to go and then summon the hauler when I want to go somewhere else while leaving the main ship close to a good bounty hunting spot, trade route or resource extraction site.

Being a cheap ship, transferring the hauler is also cheap, but when the distance is really long, it's usually cheaper to just build a new one, use it and sell it when I'm done.

YMMV, but I actually find flying the hauler kind of fun. :)

I want them to add the ability to send my ships somewhere ahead of time.

I proposed this during the whole ship timer controversy as a way to establish a satisfying mid ground for both sides, but the whole proposal got lost in the angry discussion.

At this point I don’t care anymore.

It’s still a good idea...

My general Idea was to take a transport and fly to another system without my ship. But trabsfering the ship to another system would be great too
