Some nice little touches here...

- Don't get scanned missions

We were talking about this very thing when the Sothis Smuggling Frenzy was on. :)

- Alliance vip escort

Cool. I loved the escort missions in the previous generation Elite games.

- Added NPC stranded behaviour - they need refueling!

:)

- When choosing targets for AI hyperspacing, check that targets aren't blocked by a body

Yes, I saw a ship jump "through" a planet, and it was just Wrong. Cheers.

- Fix NPC pirate wings not accepting dropped cargo to stop their attack

If only you could fix player pirate wings the same way! :p

- The galaxy map, system map and powerplay screens are now closed when the player receives damage or hostiles appear

Cool.

- Small chance of spawning rescuer AI when player runs out of fuel in supercruise if in sufficiently populated system, not an anarchy, if player is ffriendly with controlling faction. Spawned AI acts like a hunter passive, so it will approach the player and then drop out, waiting for the player to follow

Solo Mode Fuel Rat!

Overall impression... loving the little things here.

I thought the same, initially, but I fear the "Alliance vip escort" is not really a mission where you play as the escort, but rather a scenario like the "wedding barge" and "funeral ship". Haven't found the mission, yet, anyway.

First thing I notice is panel 1 - FILTERS ! Whhhaaaattttt ??!!! Beautiful. You can now filter your panel nav tab to only show stations, or just belts, or .. whatever.

...but not to nitpick, I just searched the patch notes and can find no mention of this. What else missed getting mention?

- Moved the Small hard point from the underside to the side, so the hardpoints can fire without shooting into them on the Federal Assault Ship

small hardpoint on the assault ship?

Wow, really great patch notes!

Thanks a lot, Zac and everyone at the team! :)

Apart from the new ships, I am especially happy about the new missions and scenarios.

One question, though: Is the following a scenario where we can act as escorts ourselves?

- Alliance vip escort

I am also very happy about all the new small NPC goodies going on:
- Local emergency rescue NPCs added
- Added NPC Police paintjobs to the Anaconda ship, so that the police forces in the game now all has the same livery when they respond to situations
- Fix AIs not spawning close to stations
- Added NPC stranded behaviour - they need refueling!
- Improvements to NPC traders
- Those spawned near stations (who will normally dock with that station) now pick their starting cargo from that station's imported goods, rather than a random station's exported goods
- If spawning docked they pick from that station's exports to take away with them. When buying cargo after docking they also use the station's exports
- Added 'terrorist' NPC archetype
- New chatter tables added for new scenarios
- Search and rescue NPCs added
- Added in loadouts for the Bounty Hunter Viper MkIV and added in a crime scanner to one of the standard Viper loadouts
- Added in loadouts for military Viper MkIV's and Asp Scout's, also fixed missing Class 5-E drive text
- Added NPC loadouts for Miner Asp Scouts and Keelback
- Added NPC loadouts for Smuggler Asp Scouts and Keelbacks
- Stop AI ships blowing themselves up due to overheating when firing weapons
- NPC's constantly flying into asteroids in resource extraction sites improvements
- When choosing targets for AI hyperspacing, check that targets aren't blocked by a body
- Stop NPC ships from using paint jobs from wrong ship types
- Miner NPCs spawn with a random mix of minerals from the asteroid field they're in; if they're not in an asteroid field, pick minerals from the station lists, rather than just random commodities as before
- Added more chatter lines for ambushed pilots to stop repetition
- Fix NPC pirate wings not accepting dropped cargo to stop their attack

Also:

- Changed the seats in the Imperial Clipper to be the white imperial ones
Wow, haven't checked this one yet :)

- Added Keyboard toggle for orbit lines
I think many people have been asking for this in the past! :)

- Massacre missions cannot be given by system owners now
Sounds reasonable! ;)

- System map popup positioning tweaked - now avoids overlapping other bodies in the same row
This is another one many people will be very happy about!

That change list looks amazing as usual. Can't wait to get at it tonight!

- Option added to disable head look focus mode on Comms and Info panels

Does this mean that I can toggle off the side panels coming up on their own when I look to the sides with a TrackIR?

Heeey, how did I miss that. That would really nice if that is the case..

loving it... Just updated to the beta... one nice thing I noticed while leaving dock... My bobblehead responds to boost and rapid turns etc :D Its the little things I tell ya!!!!

so far so good

I hope so, but also hope there is a way of easily bringing them back up somehow without using keyboard or having to re enable them all the time

Edit: Great log of changes FD, even though your release timing was typical as I'm now away from pc for 3 days after a weeks holiday at home!

- Missions can be received in space

is this real ? omg... would it means that...

If I wasn't hallucinating I remember being approached by an NPC months ago, just after taking off from a station, who wanted me to sell some fabrics. He even somehow managed to put fabrics in my ship.
I reported it as a bug at the time because it seemed as though I had no choice in accepting the mission or not.

Anyone experience anything similar? Because maybe I was hallucinating...

The Corvette needs a better fdl, 10ly when fully upgraded...

Agreed. The Federal Corvette's ship description said it is used for deep space patrols, yet has a very limited jump range. Bumping it to a Class 7 would be better.

People always seem to think speed and distance are the only factors when it comes to exploration (or in this case, deep space patrols). It's really not. If you're jumping huge distances, you're missing all the stars in between. Not exactly useful in a patrol ;)

I am not looking to explore, am looking to get some where just a bit quicker within fewer jumps. I should of phrased that better.

Answering my own question: yes it does!!! Thanks FD, that and the label on the system map (which you also fixed) were my #1 peeves. You guys rock! :D
