General / Off-Topic Ships Dog (Pet Lovers)

The level of understanding and the relationship that develops between a human and canine is remarkable, and something I wouldn't want to be without. This is true for some many people, and for so many different types of animals.

This is my best mate and ships dog, Cindy. I value her company above most humans, well, probably ALL humans and I'm just trying to seem slightly less introverted or anti-social. :) I got her when she was 10 weeks old, during some time(6 months) I spent off work, after an injury. Whether or not I knew it at the time, she helped me get through it. She's two and a half now

In appreciation of your beloved pets, not just dogs, post 'em up!

I had an immense complicity with a cat during three and a half years. I was obliged to euthanize her since two years. Since this dark day, a part of me is died and will never live again.

She's adorable! Doubly so since I'm not the one who has to clean up.

I can't (won't jump through the hoops, sorry) post pics but I have a cat named Acton. Got her when she was 4. She's helped keep me alive since I brought her home. Grumpy little sweetheart. She's about 11 now. Still spry. She disaproves of everything I do with her "Marge Simpson" murmur.

Pets are the best people and I, for one, don't think being antisocial is a bad thing at all.

I have two: Dixie (9, Sheltie) and Mollie (1, Chi/unknown mix). Dix has been the best dog i ever had. Mollie, she's a brat, but I love her anyway.

I was just reading yesterday where some federal judge said it's okay when a cop comes in your home if the dog makes a move or barks it's okay for him to shoot the dog. Haven't verified the truth of it yet, but let me me tell you: its the same as if he'd shoot one of my kids, and then it's gonna be game on and I don't care if he ends up shooting me too. Those dogs are my family. I'm not gonna sit by while some cop comes in my home and assaults my family.

Thanks for your compassion my friend. I have other cats but this one was really unique. Very intelligent with a lot of character. And a great faculty of communication. I will never find a cat like her (and since my birth I have known at least 50 cats :)). As with the humans, sometimes, we have exceptional encounters

Nice pictures! Now do they share your living quarters, or do you share theirs? I'm not sure, sometimes, who's the boss

Sorry you lost your pal, Patrick :\

Ca$hback, aw she's not too bad to clean up after. At least it's only outside. I'm glad you agree on the social aspect :)

Arry, what kinda dog?

Flimley, we used to have Salmon Tailed Catfish and Oscars :) Fish are too much work !

Fuzzy, looks like he's happy to have a new pal!

Don, nice pack. Yeah, I read that same story... WTH is wrong with people

Gully, nice family ! :)

Labrador German Shepard cross. He has the mentality of the Lab, kind, loving and gentle. He has a female Yorkie to boss him about and 4 cats, which he is very good with.

My only pet was our family golden retriever named Butch, 2006-2016. We had to have him put to sleep as he was suffering and terminally ill, he got worse after we took him to the vets and they gave him steroids, Butch was the friendliest dog i have ever met, we'll miss him. He was so harmless and loving that he once caught a mouse, rolled it around his mouth, then released it safe and sound, you could take his bone or food away and he'd never growl, even though he ate like he's never been fed, i think the dog became the house food vacuum cleaner, a position previously held by me. Pets give us the best moments don't they ?. We had him from a pup, his loss affected us a great deal, he was after all a member of the family, a fact that people posting here will know well, but others just don't get, it's just a fact that we value our friends (pets) more than many humans. (which is not to say we hate humans, we just love family, and our pets are family).

Bunny! Ha ha! That's great. I used to have a 'street bunny.' That is, I used to live in a house that would get a big black bunny with huge floppy ears, it was clearly once someones pet, visit us. Every few nights it would stop past our yard, we'd give it something to eat, it might hang around a few hours or even until the next day, then move on to the next house :) Various people on the street had tried to keep it as a pet, you know try and secure their yard, but it always got out and eventually it just became 'street bunny' and everyone on the street fed it

Awesome.

This is my bunny, Dusty, in his usual spot behind my chair, doing his best impression of an Anaconda (I think).

Oh yeah, it's hard. I feel for you :( It sucks that we only get them for a short time

I steal this at those time “The flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long.”

I am predominately a cat lover, as I grew up with them until I left my parents house, but I have a soft spot for most dogs too.
Currently I don not have a pet. I suffer from depressions and I feel it is too much of a responsibility.

The first cat in my life was a big black one with bright yellow eyes, called Peter. It scared the hell out of people, but it was my best friend.

My condolences for this tragic disappearance. Because the loss of a pet is always a tragedy
