From Star Control II (Amiga 1990) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Control_II
That's set my 8-bit quangles aquiver!they have also made available (for free!) an ultimate remaster of Star Control II (combining the best assets from the various platform versions, including voice) which they call "Free Stars: The Ur-Quann Masters"
The original game should be on Steam too... I did play it a lot with friends on the AmigaFor anyone interested or nostalgic, the original creators of Star Control & Star Control II are currently working on a third game in the series called Free Stars: Children of Infinity and they have also made available (for free!) a remaster of Star Control II (combining the best assets from the various platform versions, including voice) which they call Free Stars: The Ur-Quann Masters
(The games are under the Free Stars name now rather than Star Control, because the Star Control name/trademark was sold by the publisher, so some other sequels exist under that name made by unrelated companies, toes that should not be trodden on, etc)
If you haven't played before and want to give The Ur-Quan Masters a go, the game was released in the days where instead of in-game tutorials you got a manual in the box. So you'll probably want the manual too. The main game is a non-linear single-player adventure, and includes gems like player-vs-player combat on a single computer (each player gets one half of the keyboard!)
Gotta admit....War Rocket Ajax maybe, OP?

Commander:
"He's not coming out, Sir."
Captain:
"Charge capacitators to electrify cloud."
"Prepare sky nets to catch Gordon's body."
"Fire capacitators."
Vultan:
"Hahahahahahaha, they're trying to flush you out."
I always digged that size 4 Railgun on its back.
I thought that was the soundtrack to Highlander?Gotta admit....
Thats always been my battle cry when ever heading into combat, Brian Blessed yelling
"Ahhh who wants to live forever? "
Bill
<<cues up epic Queen sound track.......
Flash Gordon. Not the song, but the quote.I thought that was the soundtrack to Highlander?
… I also wouldn’t necessarily call Alien a great dating movie unless you’re both looking for a Halloween fright.nothing like Alien that came out in '79.
Can we say the thread has turned out great yet? I’m sure it’s not what the OP intended but certainly has been more entertaining.
I definitely expected it to go off the rails quickly. What did you expect with a thread title like this one?![]()
Ahhhhh mrrr........... freeman.... i...'ve been ex..pecting you...GORDON’S ALIVE?!?
