Shipyard: Why even have a "manage your ships" screen?

You've got a list of the ships RIGHT THERE on the main shipyard screen. Why didn't you just...make those clickable? And manageable? It's like someone went out of their way to make it multiple menus deep for no reason. Why even have another layer that...

Fine, you know what?

Here, I'll fix it for you:

No one gives a about browsing their ships by manufacturer, so you can dispense with that. And there's plenty of room to add any other key metrics you need to the list. All in one, single, clean, simple screen.

Same question from me. The only thing I get on the "manage your ship" screen is a nice view on the selected ship. But when you have quite some ships, perhaps some you rarely use, what would you expect on such a screen. A nice snapshot for the desk? – I'd prefer to get an overview of the ships capabilities and outfitting! What about cargo, jump range, # of SRVs/fighters, weapons, utils, … etc etc. None of this worthy info! Just a nice snapshot … :(

The new UI is anything but efficient. Be it the map, outfitting, shipyard,... everything takes at least twice as many clicks compared to the old system.
So you have my vote on this one. Any optimization is welcome.

...lots of superfluous clicks required to do just about everything. My favorite is the prompt when using a lift. It only goes to one place. Why are you asking me if it's the place I want to go?

I gave up trying to work out which ship I had put which fsd on. Is subnautica the best other vr game? I am so very disappointed. Watching tv now. In pancake. It’s poo.

My guess would be that thought they add this now so that when they further expand those stations, allowing us to explore those rings for example, they just have to add a new location to that menu. I do similar things when I build software, it makes future expansions easier to develope.

Its frontiers way of adding more depth to the game.

More screens = more clicks = more depth.

Its now a mile wide and 1.00001 inches deep. (y)

Just tried again...its so bad, so so so so bad how did they sign thgis off? Its impossible. Surely theres an elite dangerous type out there with sufficient skill to say yes or no? . Its not that we havemt learned a new thing and just pining for the old. It just doesnt do what it should having spent the time doing it. .

I'm no coder but I've worked closely with them. I used to have a knack for finding errors in code. I don't know why, I just did. Isn't that something you would hide? So, if there's an array of 10 places the lift can go but that array only has one element in it; you hide the prompt? A very simplistic explanation, I know, but I think you should get the gist of what I'm asking.

Yep, old menu was more useful. Made it more pretty and less useful...

Honestly wondering if they outsourced the UI... just sent a bunch of specifications over and this is what they got back.

Yeah, I've gotten that impression too. Its either that or it was designed in-house by people @ FDEV who have never played the game....at this point its hard to tell and that's......kinda scary.
