Shortening travel time during passenger exploit

Yeah I'll not be doing this. It sounds like something that'd break my hardware somehow.
I'll admit I know very little about how computers actually work.
I know little enough that I have almost formed a few superstitions.

*Burning superstition, writing on the wall. Play that funky exploit, play that funky exploit till your PC dies. TILL IT DIES*

This goes to show that the creativity of the playerbase exceeds the ability to fix "exploits". Quince, ceos/sothis, Robigo, skimmer stacking, massacre stacking, that other passenger system that was shut down recently, ram tah runs...people will always figure out a way to make lots of credits. Is it even worth fixing them, a lot of people seem to find the gold rushes fun. How about boosting the payouts of other fun stuff like bounty hunting, mining, trading...?

So many more important things to fix. It seems like its a game mechanics. A few updates ago I had a crash while on the same system as a NS, I was thousands of ls away. Still, when I relogged I found myself inside the star. Now that was bad for me. Peopl cutting a few minutes on their trip? People making a little bit of money? I don’t have a problem with that.

@Kyokushin >> "It is shortening travel from over 1 hour to 15 minutes, so it can tripple my profit/hour."

You get what you get. So get used to it and shut your trap! Frontier Developments are smart people and they perfectly know when and how much you need to get. There's no need to be that sarcastic.

And to be serious: I think trolling a troll is not a sin, right? Ha ha ha :)

*sigh*

Why not just play a game?

Exactly ... and just as a thought experiment - if someone gets paid better for missions that take longer, because they take longer, and that someone kills processes to reduce the time ... someone shouldn't even have to ask if it is an exploit. But common sense is not very common anymore nowadays.

Apart from that Upsilon Aquarii - Smeaton is not working as intended, but that has never stopped exploitingefficient players from doing an activity. Pro Tip: If you don't like waiting 90 minutes to see an arbitrary number increase ... don't do it. If the only goal ingame is to increase a number, I can give away a slightly worn calculator, that can reach even higher numbers, even faster.

Its not about a distance. Its about a speed. I wrote it. Finally it is over 1 hour vs 15 minutes.

My regular route is 1.68m LS and it only takes 38 minutes from jump in to station (45 minutes if I have to stop and kill 3 interdictors), so your estimate of "over 1 hour" to travel 1.8m LS is grossly misleading and patently untrue. It only took me 51 minutes to fly out 2.3m LS looking for a Voyager probe. Sooooo.

Also, just because YOU thing board hopping is an exploit doesn't mean it is. FDev has said it's OK with them, so get off that horse will ya?

No its, not. You can put your calculation 'you know where', because a gravity field over stars is making your ship is accelerating slowny, and gravity field may be different in each system.
its around hour. maybe a bit over, maybe a bit less. It doesn not matter, because in overall it is around 4 times faster than in normal.

No... level it be.
Those missions pay more due the time they take. we cannot make then quicker, if we do then they would pay less. this would knock the balance and make it worse. normal missions would pay peanuts.

Play the game, take the time if you want the reward.
nobody forces you to take 40min travel time missions

And who stop me if i do them twice faster? :)
In overall, instead of 230 mln/hour i can do around 500mln/hour by this bug.
It mean after a buying a game a player can be a billionaire after day 0, without touching any other content in game.

500 mln/hour zero effort. So much gameplay. Cool [noob]

... umm, by all means, go ahead?

Should we be concerned?

You can also immediately uninstall the game after buying it. There are many ways to shoot yourself in the foot.

your math is all over the place. have you actually done the run yourself.
you know full throttle helps.

Again, patently false. In order to get runs worth 10, 20, 50, 100, 200m in the first place requires quite a bit of game play to get a ship large enough to haul 120+ passengers. There is nobody going to 1b credits in the first day from starting at 1000cr and a Sidewinder.

Additionally, there's no "calculations" involved with watching a clock and seeing how long it took to get from point A to point B.
Again, get off the horse you are so proudly riding, you might see a little better than from that lofty saddle.

Maybe put in a bug report or send an email instead of starting a thread to 'stick it to the man' and the community. The appropriate way to handle what you might think is an exploit doesn't start with promoting it on the forums.
