Should I purchase JWE 2 or will it be dropped in 2 years?

JWE 2 is on sale and I'm very tempted to purchase it; however, I am afraid of buying it and getting burned a second time.

Seriously, JWE 1 was only out 3 years when JWE 2 came out. Afterwards, JWE 1 was abandoned.

I'm really hesitant to purchase the second title now especially with the new movie coming out this summer, they could very well be creating a whole new game just for that!

The 1st game wasn't abandoned, sequels are very common these days. The game doesn't end, i's available to play for as long as you'd like to but it can't have continuous development, for say a decade. If you do purchase it you can enjoy the content as it is, but that's up to you.

Most games don't push a sequel only 3 years after the initial game was launched.. especially when it was for a hefty price-tag.
Seriously, the game was still newish. The game was "abandoned" b/c no further content was released for it, nor any further bug fixes, or improvements made after only being 3 years old!

Planet Coaster has been out for 8 years now and is still an amazing game and I would be excited to still see more DLCs for that game.

Myself along with many others felt quite BURNED with JWE 1. It is not O.K. to sneer in our faces over the matter and make an utterly inappropriate retort such as your comments above. Quite offensive.

Again, I am asking ..is Frontier planing to drop another JWE game in light of the up-coming movie this summer? I don't want to spend all that money for yet another version that will be "abandoned". (As in, no further DLC, bug fixes, or improvements!).

ok well, I decided NOT to purchase it. Admittedly I was heavily influenced by events with JWE 1; however, I didI watch a bunch of LPs on YouTube as well. My perception was that JWE 2 re-skinned a bunch of JWE 1 assets, added a few changes to game-play mechanics of which I wasn't thrilled with, and lastly it offered slightly larger build areas with some biomes.

Ultimately I decided it just wasn't for me and I would rather just wait and see how Prehistoric Kingdom turns out when it launches this month.

On the upside, I did decide to pick up Planet Zoo. Gotta love the critters! XD lol
