I'm having a weird evening..........
...
I am mainly looking for blackholes and Neutron stars...................set my filters up to look for non sequence...........and for the past few days, it has been one here, one there.....usually several 100 light years apart......today, I must have got target fixated during a long series of jumps.....because now, when I pull my view back to hunt for the gray dots......there are 100s of them.........in every direction I scan, never more than 30ly away.............and I am only 10kly from Sol......and not even going toward the centre....sort of "turned left" when I headed out.........scanned about 50 so far, and 1 black hole among them........and I will keep using them as stepping stones on way to current target destination.......man, this game, with the right frame of mind.........a sense of wonder.....

Do other CMDRs check every system they are about to jump into? I just let the computer tell me where to go en route. Otherwise the surprise is ruined. ;)

If i had a nasty accident and my hull was knackered such that another accident would cost me all my work then I would look where i was going. But until that first accident happens I just womble along in blissful ignorance of where I am going.

Im in the same situation though of not having come anywhere near to being in danger from a hyperspace jump on about 600 occasions, so it feels a little overkill to me - but then I guess if it does happen, it will be a sorry moment.
