Shouldn't be penalised for combat build doing missions

preaching to the choir. i think many want mats storage. the thing FD worry about is people hoarding certain commodities and mass buying and storing to drive prices and then sell as an exploit. thats the only problem i can see with mats storage off ship.
that would require them re-enabling the in game economy.

Shudda just made the engineers want materials to unlock them. Carrying loads of random stuff to them, or picking up ridiculous amounts of rare items isn't the most compelling game design to me personally.

Insterad of modular terminals, just require modified consumer firmware instead, or whatever.

Then you dont have to run around with a cargo bay full of junk.

Commodity storage would be nice. It will probably happen someday.

Although I don't agree that there should be no downside to flying a ship with little or no cargo space. Just as a trader who doesn't sacrifice cargo space for combat modules runs into issues when their ultra-specialised ship needs to fight, a combat pilot who doesn't sacrifice combat modules for cargo space runs into issues when their ultra-specialised ship needs to carry cargo.

They removed the need for the cargo for engeneers because it was gaing to take too long for them to do cargo storage.

So if the engeneers ever do need cargo again it will be with the addition of storage.

However i feel they may not bother as i think alot of problems with engeneers was fixed buy doing away with the cargo. And people would feel like every one who came before them had it easy as there was no cargo requirments when they did the engeneering. And i would imagine a serious amount of WHAAA would result.

And I don't think it's fair that people that fly ships to play the game instead of flying murder ships packed with HRPs, SCBs, and MRPs are at a massive disadvantage in combat when they get ganked, but that's life.
