Show Us Your Setup

TJ and other Mods,

can you please get this great thread back on TOPIC and track. It is a great thread to follow to be able to see other Cmdrs setups.

I invite Mods to slam down the hammer and rid this thread of off topic post's. And that of course includes this post by me, as i plead for action on this great thread!

Love the mousepad support! :D

Haha, yeah. As you can see I don't have much space, so when I get the HOTAS out, there's no room for the mouse.

Luckily, the box that my headset came in, is a perfect fit for my mouse pad. And it's not too bad. Only time I touch the mouse while playing Elite is station menu and outfitting.

A video is worth a thousand pictures...

a functional work in progress

...so how can I submit this to FD for some coverage?

Very impressive.

Have you thought about using a program like EDDiscovery with this.. (disclosure..I along with other write it). It reads the journals (telling you dock/undock/health reports etc), has voice output when a event occurs, and crucially for you, can run a small script (in our Action Language) when an event occurs. The script can then call on a custom program to do whatever you want, like send a message to control your MFDs....

Only a thought. Rob

I cannot believe that I just now saw this!!!

I just got finished writing my own AutoHotKey program that scans the latest Journal File and outputs a current Pilot status file. (The credits balance is not completed yet) This is for my 4-line LCD character display.

I had in mind the exact same thing you mentioned for my program. I may be able to save time and see what you have done.

Great Thread!

Here's my setup. It's a sofa laptop* setup now featuring VR. Although the control set is pretty much the same as pre-VR. I was amazed at how similar it is to the actual cockpit setup in the ships. When I look down in VR I see pretty much the same things in the same places, the addition of the n52 speedpad completes that!

*laptop; as in the board with the controls on is on my lap! It runs from a desktop tower PC:
