Awesome chair mounts, could you please tell us a bit more about them - with more pics :) They look like something I need in my cockpit!!

Brian :)

here you go Brian, they are vesta pole mounts, £20 each on ebay (click the picture to go to the listing for full details and a diagram):

was going to get some myself but decided to go with a reclining armchair instead ;)

Sure.

The mounts I am using are these:

http://cpc.farnell.com/pro-signal/psg02631b/bracket-pole-mount-vesa75-100/dp/ST02463

But if you want an even more slightly flexible mount, you could try this:

http://cpc.farnell.com/pro-signal/psg02632b/bracket-pole-mount-vesa75-100/dp/ST02464

which is basically the same as mine, but has an additional swivel joint.

I then have simply clamped them around the arms of my office chair (all the kit is included with the mounts to clamp them on).

In order to fix the HOTAS to the mount plates I simply picked up a cheap packet of "machine bolts" of dimensions 4mm x 70mm, and some corresponding small washers from my local DIY store (Homebase I think it was).

Due to the location of the pre-drilled holes in the mounting plate and on the X52 Pro base, I was only able to use one bolt in each corner of the joystick and thrust bases. This fixed them nice and firm to the plates beneath, but did not stop them pivoting around the bolt, so to fix that, I took the advice of another post earlier in this thread and purchased some industrial strength velcro:

http://cpc.farnell.com/velcro-companies/60241/stick-on-strip-50mm-x-1m-black/dp/OE04208?Ntt=OE04208

I then stuck it to the base of the HOTAS and to the mounting plates, and this combined with the bolt in each corner has made it incredibly stable now.

Will take some more photos of how they are attached if you want me to...

Hi Husayn. I'm not an expert, but I think your computer's in need of a bit more memory. That's the only thing you may need to improve. Also, E.D. Won't run under XP
Actually it works! I had to first download a Direct X User End Runtime program, but then it works. It is a bit slow for example when entering the galaxy map or exiting supercruise but it's working ! Yay!

I used to have this as a full A10 cockpit but scaled back as I want to do everything on the rift and put my racing pit in the same room. I kept 1 of the 42" screens for games that don't work well enough on the rift yet. ED looks awesome on the big screen too.

My Setup - for my needs

I can only recline, so devised a rig to allow me to still use CH Pro Pedals in conjunction with my Thrustmaster Warthog, TrackIR & VA, sorry nothing fancy but it works for me.

Just to let anyone with an x65f know. I have a spare official base plate and screws for the throttle or joystick if anyone wants to have it(uk only). Mine are screwed down straight into wood so I do not need it. For some reason saitek only supply one.

I would love to get my hands on one additional base plate for the X65F but sadly i'm not from the UK :(
Can't understand why Saitek supplied only one of them with the Stick.

Okay here goes..... I think I have about the bare minimum I need here... but I seem to cope just fine :). Yes I don't even have a desk lol. But I do have quite a beast of a pc behind the scenes and headtracking :) .... im just very much a sofa gamer. :) well... it at least makes the mrs think im not totally ignoring her if im sitting next to her while she watches her crappy telly... even if I am completely ignoring her while im stuck into elite :)

Well theres my little corner.... nothing special but entirely functional :) one day I may have a nice set up like some of you guys but I think I may have to lose the lady before that ever happens lol. I even play DCS world and other sims just fine without a hotas set up.... the head tracking is essential for the cockpit based games though, I couldn't live without it!

I see you your PC connect to a TV... how well does it work? I've been thinking about having buying a 40" 1080p LED TV and using that for ED...

No!!! Don't do this.

The refresh rates on TVs + the response time almost always make them terrible monitors, especially under 30in.

You can buy a perfectly good 27" or 24" 1ms/120Hz monitor for less than or close to a TV of similar size.

I see so many people using TVs for monitors. You might as well play on a console, too.

Well here is my setup for E: D and my Oculus DK2.

Elite_Dangerous.jpg

I'm just waiting on rudder pedal mounting kit for the wheel stand pro so I can dump that old door the pedals are currently mounted on.

Maybe later in the year I'll upgrade my stick & throttle to something better but I think I'll be getting an Ass Kicker first for my chair and the added immersion.

All folds away nicely into the box my throttle / DK2 is on (keeps the other half happy).
