In the newsletter of this week, there was a impressive 3D printed Python.



Well, I got something like this, too. A Friend of mine suprised me with this 30 hour print of an Asp.

It is still not finished, but I love it.

I think, there are more out there, so show us yours!

Where does one get ahold of the cg models in the first place? I'd love to print out an FdL or an Anaconda.

Great model, OP! Love the detail around the thrusters.

For legal reasons, I have no Idea, where my friend find it.

He is able to build the STL-File himself with 3DS Max, Pytha or Cinema 4D


Maybe you try to google "elite dangerous 3d models" or something like that ;)

My large two-colour Cobra Mk3. 32 hours to print (and not great quality, either!) and I don't know how many hours to model. Yes, I modeled this in 3DS Max by hand, based off a rough mesh I made through photogrammetry.

So many beautiful creations :) Very good. I wonder if collectors editions of ships will be created for the fans. They would be ripped away in no time I guess :D

I'd love to have a printed model to paint and place it in a nice diorama, lights and all. It's a shame the 3d printing doesn't offer the level of detail needed to do a proper job on them :/

We have never seen this Cobra again since 2014. Maybe because it's taking place in Sir Brabens living room?

The Jameson is for Memorial, for scale, paint the rusty parts and to clean the mind and the brushes.

Great models out there! I knew it.

I am sure, there is more to come.

SpaceX is interested? I bet they could make a Cobra MKIII that can take off into orbit and land again.

But where should they look for pilots .... hmm.

Personally I'm trying to find/make a model for a Coriolis station, or rather my friend that has six 3D printers will :)
I've got a Karotz wireless rabbit with broken ears. The plan is to put the components into a model and have the button, speaker, lights, rfid reader etc in sensible locations. Once done I can have the station (or ship if I go that route) change colour based on the situation in-game while streaming the audio from Lave radio etc....

Well that's the dream anyway. Problem is getting the model.
