sim pit

I'm not sure where this thread would go but i thought it would best fit here. I'm looking to build my own SIM-PIT but i don't know where to start now that i have a HOTAS set up. I have seen a lot of cool cockpits online but i don't know where to start with that stuff. Any help or tutorials would be a lot of help. Thank you for your time

Most awesome ones you like to dream of (6DOF also some with Harness tensioners + seat compression) you can find here:

https://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

The one from Seattime and Silentchill.
They also have some nice youtube vids.

Its a lot of work+time though to get to that level :)

others:
https://www.youtube.com/user/CorvairGrymm/videos (simulator work from above for ED)
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwICSWUZRgtU_630bT0vYdA/videos (commercial 6dof)
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCupYgqy9Zx9B_mi3BZxMCEA/videos (commercial 3/4dof upcoming more on a budget looking promising)

Motion cancellation possible with OpenVR addon(Silentchills rig demo):

thank you for the links. One idea i have is to style the pit like that of the tech from the ALIEN movies and the ALIEN isolation survival horror game you know what i mean?

There's something I'm currently working on building.

I love the upholstery. And the lower screen - how are you going to attach that - and is it just a tablet or a monitor?

I HIGHLY recommend a car seat. They are undeniably THE most comfortable seat to have in a simpit - you never get the discomfort from a basic padded seat I find.

Oh and if you can, get curved screens - I have 3 and they just make the angling a lot nicer to deal with :)

Why do you care what it looks like when you'll be playing in VR? I would think a comfy, reclining chair with the HOTAS and possibly foot pedals attached would be the way to go. The cockpit's in the headset. ;)

EDIT: For example, one of these theater seats but with no arms and the HOTAS attached to plates on either side.

Because when your NOT playing, youll have to look at it :)

Is google really that hard to use for some people? If I'm looking for ideas along these lines I simply google images.

that's not what i was asking i wanted advice on designs. Another thing i have looked around on google for control systems like panels but all i find are the one's for flight sims not something for space sims you know? but thank you any way
