Just two very small UI improvements I was hoping were going to be fixed with today's update.
1: Do not force players who use the mouse to click the Multi-select option (or even a hotkey) to be able to multiselect. Pressing and dragging the left mouse button works just fine, if not better. Plus it has the added benefit of being the same as it was in all previous games. Also, it doesn't have any impact on console players.
Additionally, when selecting a single item, and holding the shift key, let PC players be able to start a multiselect from there. Let them click multiple items while holding down the shift key and add them all to their selection. This is the way it worked in all previous games, and not only was it very nice to use, it is also ingrained in many of our brains and muscle-memory.
2. Secondly, in a very similar vein, please display all available options immediately on multiselecting. Don't force PC players to click Confirm selection (or again, a hotkey) every time. Not only is there more than enough room for both the multi selection menu and the properties menu to exist simultaneously, but even just adding the quick actions (the semi-transparent grey bar that has delete, move and copy on it) would be enough. Add some quick selection boxes for the colors and a button to add to building and perhaps even save as blueprint and it'll be just as amazing as it was in the previous games.
Your community absolutes adores you, but the launch cycle for this game has been rocky to word it positively. You need some goodwill, simple UI changes will make the game easier and more fun to play.
One more thing: Some breadcrumbs on an element to show in which category it sits would help immensly finding specific objects. Right now i'm trying to locate the new glass pieces, but I can only find them when searching for them specifically. Some breadcrumbs on hover/mouse-over that show what category the item is in would be awesome.
