I haven't seen anything from FD specifically, although Epic is writing it into Unreal Engine4 and its also being integrated into Unity as well.
FD went with their own engine though, so implementing SMP would force a re-write of the Cobra engine's renderer. That's a big job, and not to be taken lightly.
It is hard to see the real-world end result/improvement without actually doing the re-write, so developers like FD will need to do more research into the likely outcomes with their specific already-written pipelines first.
I'd expect a year or two to see this technology in games, and then probably in Unity and UE4 powered titles.
