I hope there will be a single player mode on ps4, any in fo on this?
PS4 should have the same available modes as the other platforms.
If you don't have a PSN subscription, it'll be single player Solo Mode only - to the best of my knowledge.

Just remember that solo mode is no true singleplayer mode. You still need to be online and are connected to the shared galaxy, you just won't meet other players.
The FAQ says that Elite can be played in solo mode without ps+ but to play in multiplayer you will ps+ subscription
Yeah, I have a question about this. If PSN or my own Internet is down, I can still play NMS, I just can't access the catalog database until PSN is back up. Will ED be like this, allowing me to play disconnected, and then synchronize the "shared galaxy" once back online, or will ED refuse to load if it can't ping the servers?
No. All game modes (Solo, Private Group and Open) are online only. I understand the training missions can be played offline, but that's it. The reason is that all players affect the background simulation (BGS) 'live' as it were, irrespective of the mode they play in. It's the way the game was designed.
Okay, that makes sense. Do you know what kind of data is exchanged with the server when playing solo mode? Surely it's not the constant stream of position data needed for PVP. That's assuming NPC ships are generated and controlled locally via PC / console in solo mode. Or are NPCs controlled by the server like a traditional MMO, even in solo? My guess is that BGS only needs the "results" of interactions with the galaxy, similar to NMS, otherwise the options would be PVE and PVP instead of "solo" and "open."
What I read Solo play and open play both carry the same progress you can switch mode of play and never lose progress between the two modes.
