Single player test in PB2?

Now I know I can be a bit of a dreamer but as I haven't seen it mentioned before I'll just throw this out there. If you look at the part of the newsletter (28) with the german localization bit you see an interesting screenshot of the game menu; link to relevant bit in newsletter

My take on that was that it was a menu from a dev version that shows the language option, mainly because of the "Art Test Worlds" option - made me think it was not a menu from a release candidate. I am not getting my hopes up about features - especially ones that might interfere with network stress testing.

I don't wish to rain on your parade, and I'm also hoping for single-player testing soon, but those menus are likely to be from an in-house developers' build.

Great spot. Guess I saw German and skipped on down. Don't know how I missed that. I hear what deMangler is saying but you'd think these things get scrutinised. I hope single player is in there, presumably this allows the devs to watch other aspects of play that need testing.

Also is the compass in that shot different? [ ] for behind you or something like that? And a joystick.

Not really, at least in the Unity 3D engine a player is nothing else than any other game object in the scene except it's vectors (movement) are synced over the network. From a technical perspective there is no difference.

This is correct - the screen shot was from a development build.
