Engineers Sirius Permit - comabt rep gain possible?

I'm trying to grind rep up with the Sirius Corporation to land the Sirius system permit and get to engineer Marco Gwent.

So far I've just been grinding cargo missions from Procyon and Avik, but its terrifically slow going.

Is there a Sirius-influenced RES site anywhere I can go to get combat bonds? Or do I just need to go to ANY RES site and then drop the bounties collected at a Sirius-controlled station?

If you have some (~5mil) exploration data to sell this will bring you from neutral to allied in couple of minutes. Just make sure startport/outpost is under their control. I know that it is not easy to gather that much of data, but if Marco is just a stepping stone towards Palin, you will need to do some exploration anyway (unless you have already travelled 5000 ly from your starting position sometimes in past) and why not to make your life easier sooner rather than later

If you prefer a combat method of gaining rep with Sirius Corporation, they are the controlling faction in Avik; therefore, any bounties collected *without* using a KWS will yield Sirius Corporation bounties. From there, you take those bounties to Davy Dock in Procyon (a Sirius Corporation controlled station), assuming you're not in a ship that can land on a medium pad, and turn them in there.

The fastest methods I found for farming bounties in Avik, as there are no RES sites, is either dropping into Weapons Fire Detected USSs, or playing the instance game at the Nav Beacon:
1. Drop into Nav beacon.
2. Kill wanted ships
3. Jump to supercruise
4. Rinse/Repeat

If you can handle heavier combat, carry around cargo, and let anacondas/FDLs interdict you in supercruise... they tend to be worth more.

Cheers for the responses fellas - good to know Sothis/Ceos got bombed too!

No problems here - I've been 9000ly out so made that requirement... I just didn't know about the Engineer requirements when I came back in to the bubble a couple of weeks back! Live and learn I guess lol! :p

Glad you saw this before you headed out! Sothis and Ceos were both winding down when I was out there trying to rank up so I came back and did the Nav beacon thing and finished up in no time.....now I'm trying to collect Modular terminals. It's amazing how the little buggers dissapear when you actually want them :p.

On the modular terminal front... Go to Sol (if you have the permit for it), there are umpteen stations to choose from. Just bounce between all the stations until a mission with modular terminals pops up.

As far as I know, using a KWS only adds a generic Empire/Federation/ Alliance amount to bounties, and doesn't change the initial issuer. You should still be able to cash in your Sirius bounties and get a little extra from using it.

Last night I just hung around the Avik Nav beacon and polished off Wanted ships as they appeared. New Wanted ships popped up and announced their status by scanning me at a reasonable rate, but I only made 500K in bounties and didn't see even a blip in my Sirius Corp reputation bar (as seen in the mission screen).

Since I disappeared off into the black for several months, and the AI etc all changed along with the Engineers updates, I've come back to a very different combat game in the Bubble.

My Python is pretty basic A-fit but with 2x engineered 5A SCB's (god they overheat now, ouch!).
I was running C3 pulse lasers but they don't seem to do sweet FA against much now, so switched to 3x C3 Multicannons now and was having much better luck (once I learned to lead the aim and wait for the dang things to spin up).

AI for FdL's and even FAS etc seem much harder and maneuvre significantly better, certainly better than I can do in my Python (I think I only have Clean Drive Tuning 1, to be fair lol)

What's the low-hanging fruit to get this Python lump back up to speed?

I would suggest Dirty drive tunning grade 3 mode as you can get nice improvement in speed as well as maneuverability. You can get these at Felicity. With couple of rolls I got mine 400 boost and 18% improvement. Combine that with termal mode (grade 4-5) for bi-wave class 6 shields and couple of resistance shield boosters mods (grade 3 will do) and you will make a monster out of you phyton. Weapon mods are extras :)

Yep - hunting Modular Terminals now... 12 down so far, all for Marco Gwent of course. :)

I went to HIP 8396 and did some bounty hunting in RES in that system to rank up with Sirius Corporation.

I did that exact thing, went and got 3mill worth of bounties, checked that Stepping Stone Base in HIP 8396 was indeed controlled by Sirius Corporation, but no faction gain at all when I checked the mission board for faction both before and after. I'm not sure what's up...

Edit: Faction was added after I relogged. Disregard the above, please.
