Size modifications (resize props, scenery, etc.)

Hi guy,

this was suggested back in march and many people liked the idea. Is there any news to resizing? Would really like to see a resize feature with at least a 50% to 200% option as a slider for props/scenery/etc. Sometimes a door or plant would be perfect but it just is too big or small. As long as it is in a low spectrum as 50% to 200% size it shouldn't hit performance that hard even with the current LOD system at work. Would love to see that feature added. :) I couldn't find anything from the official side but I have not watched all interviews and streams. Was anything said about resizing? I know many games which allow you to do that. While I know that it is not as simple as some other suggestions to include as it is more than a few simple lines of code as something like a colour pallet is. But it would allow a lot more creative freedom. A value for the size could be stored in one byte of data for each object as long as you have just a small degree of sizerange and the code knows that this byte is supposed to be the size. Steam Workshop projects wouldn't go up in size a whole lot that way and while the current max size for steamworkshop mods is not that large even three times the size of the currently largest buildings on the workshop for Planet Coaster wouldn't hit that maximum size. [rolleyes]

I obviously can't know if the engine would have issues with resizing or not but texture rescaling and objectmap rescaling shouldn't be that much of an issue. The only things that might be harder would be things with invisible grids for AI involved like bins and benches which peeps must walk around. Anything which doesn't have "noclip" might be an issue due to that. But those objects are not necessary to be resized anyways. Only props, walls, plants, etc. would be interesting for resize purposes. :)

I hope we will see this in the final game. [big grin]
