Skimmer Exploit is great for Elite

It's not an exploit though. An exploit is taking advantage of UNINTENDED gameplay. This is clearly intended. YOu can say the skimmer spawn rate needs checking, or you can say the rewards need reducing, or at least scaling with the security response of the base, but htis is not an 'exploit' in its normal definition. You could say a development oversight.

Agreed, it's not an exploit. They are just badly coded missions offering too much money for too little reward.

Now, I personally, don't have any bases THAT easy near my home. When I do this, I use three different bases (so I can stack enough missions without going crazy logging in and out), of three varying security levels. One is a bit like Yamiks one in that it only has two small turrets that are taken out with a single missile, then I can shoot the spawns, but the other two are both high security, and have power plants that need to be taken out and kept down (they self repair), otherwise the Anti Air defenses take you out quick. I don't consider that the way I'm doing these is exploity. I hope that when whatever nerf comes for the fish in the barrel method, it doesn't affect the high payouts for the strategic assault of high security skimmer bases.

Therefore, as hinted previously, perhaps the rewards need to scale with the security response, or rather, only bases with meaningful security are selected for these missions.

I fully agree with all of this. I'm not for nerfing anyone's fun. But the risk/reward needs to be balanced, as you've indicated.

Lord knows there are other missions that should have their rewards buffed SIGNIFICANTLY. Why do Kill the Terrorist (illegal in target system) missions pay the same as legal Assassinate Pirate Lord (or General, etc.) missions? The former requires you to make you way into a high-security base (in an SRV) - probably racking up quite a bounty smashing all the defenses - and do an elaborate, multi-point scan just to find out where your target is! Then you have to kill them, which will also be an illegal act. The latter only requires you to travel to the destination system, do a discovery scan, and then (assuming you're not sent out of system to talk to a contact) just go to the designated celestial object and circle it until the target's USS spawns - providing you didn't get luck and spot/interdict the target in supercruise or, even luckier, get interdicted by your target the minute you entered the system.

The assassination missions payout is fine for what you have to do (especially since the search can drag out sometimes). The illegal Kill the Terrorist mission's reward is NOT.

Here's my opinion about this:

Your basing your opinion on the assumption people have 10 hours a day to play the game....majority of people don't.

Money on elite is an enabler for people to try new things in the game to a point. some are locked behind engineering reqs.

If someone chooses to spend a week making a billion so they can explore other aspects whats the problem ? , they where not using any exploit...just making the best of a good situation

And crashing the servers on a Sunday so that EVERYONE's game is ruined - and FDev has to pay overtime for the people needed to get the servers back up and operational, plus the developers weekend gets trashed because they get called in to find out why the crash occurred and what can be done to fix it.

But hey, you get to keep your money so who cares how anybody else is affected - right?

All these folks getting shiny new Cutters, Corvettes and everything else is great for the long term health of the game.

They are spending real money on Paintjobs, the French chicks voice, Ship Kits ( 8 pounds a pop! ) and questionable Cmdr clothes.

These brave heroes are ensuring the future of the game with cold hard cash. I salute you.

Rubbish!

How do you think they fare when the likes of FDL drivers smoke 'em like they're nothing at all? Work on your skill per hour, not your credits per hour. That supports not only the long term health of the game but your own enjoyment as well.

It's not mutually exclusive, and I suggest a substantial bankroll helps the skill learning curve.

Why dont they just remove a 0 from the so called 200-300/h and get it over with.
That way u still need to grind but alot less then before, and not nerf the hell out of the passenger traport like they did with 3.0

That's a bit simplistic isn't it!
Firstly: A properly combat fitted FDL in the hands of an expert will take out a Cutter every time regardless of the expertise of the pilot.
Secondly: just about any combat fitted medium sized ship will take out a tradeCutter in mere seconds regardless of the skill of the pilot.
Thirdly: some of us just don't give a **** about combat and aren't concerned to "Git gud" to satisfy the amped up kiddies whose only idea of fun is to blow ships up.
Lastly: As I previously stated. Some of us have more than one account and our alt accounts are often brought to "Double Elite" (Explorer & Trader) wiithin a few weeks along with the cash to purchase and A-Rate any of the big three (four?) leaving you looking at an Elite combat pilot wearing a "Mostly Harmless" skin.

In short: Assumptions are the mother of all CockUps!
