It's not an exploit though. An exploit is taking advantage of UNINTENDED gameplay. This is clearly intended. YOu can say the skimmer spawn rate needs checking, or you can say the rewards need reducing, or at least scaling with the security response of the base, but htis is not an 'exploit' in its normal definition. You could say a development oversight.
Agreed, it's not an exploit. They are just badly coded missions offering too much money for too little reward.
Now, I personally, don't have any bases THAT easy near my home. When I do this, I use three different bases (so I can stack enough missions without going crazy logging in and out), of three varying security levels. One is a bit like Yamiks one in that it only has two small turrets that are taken out with a single missile, then I can shoot the spawns, but the other two are both high security, and have power plants that need to be taken out and kept down (they self repair), otherwise the Anti Air defenses take you out quick. I don't consider that the way I'm doing these is exploity. I hope that when whatever nerf comes for the fish in the barrel method, it doesn't affect the high payouts for the strategic assault of high security skimmer bases.
Therefore, as hinted previously, perhaps the rewards need to scale with the security response, or rather, only bases with meaningful security are selected for these missions.
I fully agree with all of this. I'm not for nerfing anyone's fun. But the risk/reward needs to be balanced, as you've indicated.
Lord knows there are other missions that should have their rewards buffed SIGNIFICANTLY. Why do Kill the Terrorist (illegal in target system) missions pay the same as legal Assassinate Pirate Lord (or General, etc.) missions? The former requires you to make you way into a high-security base (in an SRV) - probably racking up quite a bounty smashing all the defenses - and do an elaborate, multi-point scan just to find out where your target is! Then you have to kill them, which will also be an illegal act. The latter only requires you to travel to the destination system, do a discovery scan, and then (assuming you're not sent out of system to talk to a contact) just go to the designated celestial object and circle it until the target's USS spawns - providing you didn't get luck and spot/interdict the target in supercruise or, even luckier, get interdicted by your target the minute you entered the system.
The assassination missions payout is fine for what you have to do (especially since the search can drag out sometimes). The illegal Kill the Terrorist mission's reward is NOT.
