Skippable Module Animations

Simple request!

Being able to skip the animations for installing and removing modules.

When you're outfitting a large ship with loads of modules, it can actually be really frustrating to sit and watch everything pack up and unpack. Lol

It feels more like a bug than a feature that you are locked in place until the animations are finished. It is definitely an unwelcomed waste of time.
 
+1 and agreed. A common suggestion.

And that pad rotation as well. It not only delays my launch unnecessarily, it does not make sense with 6dof spaceships that take off vertically, safety, mechanical longevity and best use of limited space. And ships that rotate then blast the tower and work zones on each pad with engine exhaust, instead of hitting the blast shield that shields only on landings!

I know there is a certain nice feeling of some repetitive game-play elements, but ED has more than it's share of time wasters and not-quite-so-logical elements. Getting rid of some of those might make spending 50% of my time in travel from A-B more bearable.

I find myself having to be tactical when outfitting - never sell/store a weapon then buy/transfer another - always do it in one to avoid double animation nightmare.

When docking you used to be able to hit Enter Hangar immediately followed by Return to Surface, thus getting the rotation over with while browsing the mission board etc. Alas no longer.
 
Two words: Time-Sink.

[alien] Would you rather see an animation or watch a "progress bar" as a module loads into memory? The same for the rotating landing-pad and the "hyperspace" animation. They are all LOADING SCREENS! IMMURSHUN!! o7

btw,
a few days ago, i had a bug: i switched so often between my ships in one starport, that suddenly the hangar animation was skipped whenever i switched back to the Type 10 i was trying to outfit with new equip.
that was so refreshing fast after seeing it ten times in a row

I'd prefer the progress bar if it exactly matched the time necessary to load the textures. And if I'm fitting a second weapon of the same type already fitted to another hardpoint not sure it needs to take any time at all.

Presumably because it was already in memory, though I've noticed it will sometimes skip the animation when switching to a ship that HASN'T previously been loaded.
