SLF future uses discussion

Ok, so I've wondered why we don't have more use from SLF.

How about SLF with a pulse wave scanner to fly ahead of mother ship and ID rocks quicker (possibly with a way to 'mark' or 'paint' them for mothership.)

SLF with open weapon slots but restricted to class based on pre determined internals so one can outfit lasers only, or projectiles only, or how about 2 small torpedoes or railguns, or better yet engineering them! Imagine, a SLF with regen beams!

How about it, Yay or nay?

I'd love the ability to quickly scoop up engineering mats with the fighter. Be fun to zip around collecting them.

Blow off chunks of raw materials on planetary surfaces and catch them in mid air.

Mission where I have to pilot a SLF inside a tight maze of an station or installation (think second Death Star battle)

Basically CQC but in the "main game"

A way to "Dock" at outposts in large ships

Special SLF to trade/exchange with other ship (ship to ship docking, PC or NPC)

I dont know that's all I can think of right now

Interesting. A science mode for fighters. Could be useful.
I would love to explore and gather materials from a fighter craft instead of SRV.
I'd love to be able to launch the fighter personally and dismiss the mothership like we can with the SRV. Bonus for science mode SLF..

Take this further and have an SRV dropship SLF that can help deployment and recovery of the SRV in tight spots. Perhaps combine with mothership dismiss and/or have crew fly cover while you are in the SRV.

I thought a mining SLF had been hinted at by FD before, that seems a good addition.

Cargo collection SLF, use it instead of limpets..

I like having options, overlapping ones even.
