Slightly annoyed with the new 1.3 system map

I've raised it as a bug. Since everyone else seemed content just to complain and not bring it to the attention of the QA team :p

I used to report bugs all the time back in Beta / Gamma but after release I soon stopped bothering because I've never got a timely or appropriate reply (if I was lucky, there'd be an automated response a month or two later, and if I was unlucky, it'd just be closed without explanation.)

If you don't report bugs then you don't have any right to complain about them, in my opinion.

But we do have the right to complain about the pointlessness of reporting bugs when those reports don't even get acknowledged.

How about moving the cursor away from the main star so you can have an unobstructed view of those beautiful planetary bodies?

How about they put the button in the text field?
Then it would be like before and the function would be available.

But also there is this route planing icon.

I think they will fix it sooner or later.

That huge system info box on the Galaxy Map is just silly. All it does is take up huge amounts of space repeating information already present in the info tab, and impede trying to examine nearby stars.

Right to complain whether or not bug submitted exercised. (And in their eyes, it is probably a feature, not a bug. But a poorly-thought out or tested one).

Seriously the overlapping thing is so dumb!! Nobody in Frontier knows that they display all celestials in a straight line so that adding a gigantic and mostly useless tooltip that covers 3-4 planets at a time *COULD* be annoying? :epic:facepalm:

Deleting your route using the in-system navigation tooltip too.

Oh and since I'm here ranting, what about that spectacular feature of "remember my settings" so that I don't have to select them all over again every single time I login?

Cmon Frontier you can do better than this. Can't you??

This is quite annoying. User experience department at FD could do with some help... but you have to remember that its only explorers who click on planets. Every one else only clicks on stations.

I am not one to moan or complain about this game as they usually get it pretty much from all sides :( But losing your route when you choose to use the new feature in the system map does seem

a) A little annoying
b) Kind of obvious in it's conception that it doesn't really work - or at the very least has a MAJOR flaw/drawback.

Hopefully this will be fixed in the near future :)

Yep me too! These dots need to go away - or at least be made an option. What are they for anyway? :S

They are an option. Unfortunately they're tied to the same option as the grid, so you can have co-ordinates and dots or neither. I'd generally rather keep the grid and stomach them, but if you can live without the grid then you can lose the dots.

Yeah, just had a play with the options. I think I might be able to manage without the grid - original Elite didn't have no stickin' grid! :p

Annoying yes. I just click on the last object in the system which clears the area. I also have the issue where you select in the system map and lose your route. So I select in the left UI and see what I have selected in the system map. Thta way you know what you have selected and you keep your route.

shout with me : '''WE WANT THE ORRERY MAP''

interactive, with destination point to set for FSD course.. etc.. etc..

Yes!! this is something I have wanted since I started playing. Even if its not as fancy as their original concept (below). Maybe just a top down view showing your current location in the system would suffice.

I wish I was playing that game.

That's brilliant. Didn't spot that option before, but I will next time I play because to heck with a grid.

Plus when you select ship targets whilst a route is selected, although route is still in Galaxy map you can not always easily re-assign it. I find I have to again type in destination although the route is all marked!

In case you're still hanging around, X-Terminiator, in the key binding menu you can bind a key to target the next stop in your route. That keybind handles your problem neatly, although it does nothing for the OP's very important complaint that selecting targets in the system map drops your entire route.
