Smallest shields on Corvette

I am trying to figure out what the smallest size shield I can put on one of my Corvettes.

I plan on using the smallest fully engineered Prismatic shield possible to maximize cargo/passenger space.

I figure I’ll first put the shield in a smaller ship to engineer and then take to put in the Vette.

Anyone know how to figure out which Prismatic would work? I only want shields to prevent damage from bumping into things and not for combat.

Thoughts?

Size and Engineering/Experimental Recommendations would be great!

A class 5 is the smallest shield that fits on a Vette.
Coriolis can help you with that.

(not counting legacy modules, although I'm not sure there is a class 4 mod that allows the Vette to carry one)

Pretty sure only the cutter could pull that off (I have my legacy shields still installed on mine)

Thanks, I tried and found out I’m an idiot when it comes to Coriolis.
Hoping someone knows how to work it well enough to see if something smaller than a class 5 could work.

No way to fit a size 4. Maximum hull mass for that is 713t. Even with an exceptional legacy roll of 12% increase it would still be slightly below 800t. The Vette has 900t. As far as I know, only the Cutter and Beluga with their 1100t vs. 1013t max on a size 5 shield were candidates. Beluga mass has since been lowered, so it can still take a size 5 shield.

plus the dolphin. i have a legacy mod shield class 2 on my dolphin. but i think that's it.

i'm running non-prismatic 5A shields on my trade corvette (no access to prismatics), thermal resists G5, guardian shieldboosters in the military slots, and G3 resistance augmented force block d-class shieldboosters (as i don't have access to G65 on my bubble account) and the shields are strong enough to tank two interdicting elite rankend mission npc condas.

if you just want shields as bump protection, you can as well do class 5 d-class shields, maybe for raw shieldstrenght modded - but as the corvettes base shield modifier is so high, you might as well go enhanced low power to safe additional heat by powering the shields.

Try reducing the mass of your vetted first, go light weight on everything then engineer the shield generator with enhanced low power then stripped down experimental

You should try running no shields. I do on my python, gives you another spare slot for a cabin then. I know you want shields to protect against bumping, but believe me it makes you a better driver with no shields! :ROFLMAO:
