This game is , broken piece of space game. The only thing devs want us to do is mindless trading where you just mash jump button and watch tv.
Smuggling where you actually use stealth and need to be alert to not mess up? Pays less.
Fighting in asteroid belts in the night? They barely pay you for new paint job.
Harder things you do, less you get paid. In what game you have that? Elite:Upsidedown
In diablo 3 you get more rewards each time you chose higher difficulty. Imagine playing diablo on normal and getting drops and gold higher than torment 10 difficulty. Stupid right? So you'd get all gear and gold for upgrades to play highest tier that loses money.
Nobody would play diablo if you had less reward for doing harder difficulties. E: D is just meh.
You play diablo on normal to get shiny gear and some cash, you raise the difficulty to get better gear and more cash reward so you can move to harder stuff to hone your skill.
In elite you do boring easy trading while watching TV and not giving a damn about game, you earn credits buy new ship. You start bounty hunting and you realize that to progress to next ship you don't fight or smuggle or increase your skill in any way, you have to FALL BACK to mindless trade grind while watching TV. Might as well just watch TV or play another game instead. There is REVERSE progress mechanics in elite dangerous! That's why it's so bad. You trade yourself to death and get conda and realize that god damn trading is stupid endgame.
TRADING is god damn end game. GG, this is such hard fail game design i don't even have enough palms to facepalm this.
It's just sad that a DEV can't seem to make a balanced judgement on these things, ok nerf it fair enough but don't destroy it. Now I sit in my system looking at missions that to be honest aren't even worth my time reading let alone actually doing.
The smuggling was a joke, it needed to be balanced...
When people could play the game for a week and end up Pythons, you know something is wrong. And if you can't see that, then you are just as bad as whiny the little carebears that want everything nerfed every 5 seconds (Ie complaining about missiles and not taking point defence systems etc) because they can't work it out for themselves.
What you've just done, if you didn't know already, was point out the absurdity of buying ships.
Eventually, everyone WILL have an anaconda and every other ship out there so why is there a problem with everyone having them right now? The game isn't going to change in anyway. Whether we all have them now or in a months time it make zero difference.
6 to 9 million credit missions are Elite, I saw missions ranging from 800,000 up to 3/4 million for low ranks. I took screenshots of most of the refreshes.
Edit - mission here for Peddler - 3.6 million 6 tonnes of Tobacco .. This forum really does attract drama queens, people need to learn to chill
Wrong how? If something isn't a 150% adrenaline rush 200% of the time and requiring more attention span than anyone's brain can ever deliver, it's somehow fundamentally flawed?
Sometimes people like to sit back, chill and relax, not everything has to be done at a million miles an hour.
I like slow methodological exploring or trading, just taking my time, other times I like to go do CQC and go hell for leather. What is so hard to understand?
Wrong as in a game that requires little interaction or thought, or even watching the screen is a time sink and a poor game design.
And I don’t need “150% adrenaline rush 200% of the time and requiring more attention span than anyone's brain can ever deliver” with your ridiculous hyperbole. Really, go back and read what you just said there, you think any game that you can’t read a book while playing needs 200% of someone’s time? What does 150% adrenaline even mean?

Then read a book and don't play the game. If your reading a book while playing the game your passing the time while you're grinding credits, if you admit that or not.
In ED, fun must be rationed out. This is because, the devs don't really know what fun means. They think it means money. So they focus on balancing the grind so that people can worry about not having money so much that they don't really think about whether or not they're actually having any fun.
In reality, money should be just a proxy for motivation to try increasingly difficult tasks. The fun is manufactured by a sense of accomplishment, and the only lasting version of this is drawn from attaining skill. Not money. Once you have enough money, there is no point carrying on. But once you have enough skill, you want to actually use it as often as possible and show it off.
Amongst other games I play 7 days to die. There isn't a second out of 5 hours of gameplay that I'd ever watch TV and there's 90% NO adrenaline rush.
then you haven't played BorderlandZ for 7DTD ;-)
(sorry had to write that down, even if off topic)
Anacondas or sidewinders, it makes no difference. Fun is something that happens moment by moment and can't be measured on a spreadsheet. It can't be measured in credits or rank.
It's in the thrill of the chase, the pursuit of new vistas, a personal sense of accomplishment from doing something that previously felt impossible. Smuggling missions got 2 out of 3 of those right. And Sandro's response was to make them extremely rare... ???
sadly yes.
these smuggling missions got me right back to E D (last game play was back end june prior to the sothis run)
and even if I had an anaconda already (but do not fly it, because... uhm... it's still a brick) these mission had:
1) FUN
2) The Quiet before the Storm
3) The Adrenalin pushing flight to the first target location
...
4) and finally a good amount of cash to feel you really REALLY have gotten something Great
(Disclaimer: I only got 13 mill/hr. as multiple times written, and this I'm still thinking was a GOOD value of such an adventure!)
I'm betting you would have done the mission for a tenth of the cash prize though. Who needs money when you can do a fun mission?
I have to say I was grinding trade (about 10/12 mil per hour) very dull even with music blasting out, just could not keep it up for long, then I saw some threads whining about how many credits could be made with long distance smuggling at SOTHIS (never tried that before out side a weapons CG), sure enough biggish missions (had not quite reached Tycoon then) not sure I made much more an hour to start with but it was so much more fun, once you start, the clock is ticking, Interdictions left right and centre, plenty of close shaves loved every minuet of playing, but as sure as day turns to night with all the whining I had a gut feeling something would be done to ruin it, I unashamedly switched to a Python with 224 cargo and thrashed the missions (moved to ALMAGEST on Sat) from Friday to Monday just gone, I only had time to fit in one full load run (it was taking 6/8 hours to complete a full load) on Fri,Sat,and Mon and squeezed in 2 full runs on Sunday even with the nightmare Hyperspace load times, Now I made Trade Elite at 15:25 on Mon with the last mission after a 7 hour slog. I was not surprised by this thread but very disappointed, I don't need the credits but the risk to reward vs time spent playing has been nurfed needlessly, (went back to ALMAGEST to check out the missions and this was the best there). It seems to me that the high value missions are perfect for players with limited game time and I feel once again pure big ship trading rules the roost..
Good Luck CMDR's

Maybe we need to post this a hundred million times so you can partially understand...................some of us only get 2 hours a night to play..........at the most.
That means we "Literally" do NOT have enough time to fly around a billion stars looking for these missions you apparently always see, but no one else does.
I spent all 2 hours last night running around my old routes looking for a good mission that paid more the 75,000 credits. As I said before..........I didn't find a single good mission, but Te Kaha did have 6 charity missions. I should have stacked those and then waited 20 minutes and stacked another 10..............oh wait, I don't have that much playing time.
now waiting for the next player to tell me to play something else.
Christ that is garish!
