Independent smuggling is great now, Frontier did a really good job there. However, the actual smuggling missions are paying the same, or even less, then the regular deliveries.

Did they pay more? I've smuggled on and off for a few years now. Except for Robigo, I don't recall coming across smuggling missions that where higher paid than regular haulage. At my regular spots I am seeing around 2-3 mill for smuggling 60 to 100 tonnes, not that bad really. The regular haulage (Non Xeno) Pays up to 8 million on average for 100 to 180 tonnes short haul.
Robigo was paying around 6-11 mill for 60 tonnes, haven't seen that in a long time.
What I'd really like to see is dedicated black market smuggling missions, like rare goods, high value drugs, exotic personal weapons, basically interesting types of underworld cargo that is high risk high reward for smuggling. Anything is better than 'Sneak in 50 tonnes of Slaves'
This would be awesome. Illegal rare goods are the perfect cargo for smuggling small quantities of goods over longish distances for high risk and reward. I am extremely disappointed with FD for not implementing this. Rare goods stations should be famous hubs for legal and illegal trade, yet places like Sothis, Hutton and Smeaton are known for very different things.
