So about that inhabited Generationship

They have been travelling for a very long time, like a living piece of history while the rest of us have passed many gates, so much history. It could be a good thing if they donated a few dozen colonists for genetic research and xeno-studies. Maybe more. Future and past together, could bring a new era for all of us. Just jettison the cargo in HIP 106288.

I think explorers should be wary. They’ve been out there for 1000 years... surely they will claim first discovery in a bunch of planets! How are we going to resolve that?

Imagine for a moment that you woke up from a short nap a thousand years in the future or a thousand years in the past. There are going to be MAJOR issues trying to adapt to either.

I was born in 1949 and learned how to deal with issues of that era, as each era came and gone since then, I've had to adjust. Which because they don't happen over night, one has time to adjust. At my present age, I find trying to adjust to the new issues going on, considerably harder than I did in my past. I mean, my vocabulary use to be rather extensive. But today I'm not suppose to utilize even in content, a vast number of words without offending someone somewhere that's not even involved in my conversation. IF and when a few letter's involved in the spelling of a word is deemed inappropriate by anyone who deems it to be so; the word becomes banned. My use of gender pronouns was limited to two. Now I'm suppose to accept that there is nearly 100 and get one incorrect, I offend someone again.

Give them some supplies and allow them to continue on their journey. Que Sera, Sera!

I am born later, 74, but I gave qualms about offending people. Most of the time I enjoy it, especially over something as ridiculous as being politically correct
