Space legs, ship grapples, boarding parties, disable then board and take control of a trader's/courier's ship and then jettison their cargo for pick up, assassinate their passenger, steal the documents. Maybe a ship theft mechanic. Cloggers would make it problematic though. Not much to be done about them though.

I actually almost started a thread when I watched it last week. Figured one would show up when Disney + launched in the UK......I really hope The New Era expands on Bounty Hunting in Elite Dangerous. We need tracker limpets which can attach themselves into ships, tip-offs about where bounties were last seen, and the ability to walk around nuPlanets (using that new planetary terrain system previously scheduled for Beyond Chapter 4), into outposts/installations and toshoot the crap out of everythingcollect the bounty - dead or alive.
If alive, we need those long talked about but still invisible prisoner cells, so we can secure the criminal scum into our ships before transporting them safety to the courts of law, without incident. And for times when there are incidents during transport, well, I guess that's what the fragment cannons are for.
Also, some unique loot which can only be acquired from bounty hunting would be great, too. Along with cool helmets.
My initial though was that this would be an AMAZING game play loop if worked into ED. Acquire bounty puck (various amounts of information depending on rank/ reward), find target, eliminate or capture alive, then bring them in. Give me a burst laser pistol, a railgun rifle, and let me get after it
Yes to all. It would be so much more fun if even the NPC pirates were actually pirating your cargo instead of the mindless ' i'll boil you to hell' catch phrases when your cargo hold is empty.
NPC pirates only attack me when I have stuff in my hold. When my hold's empty the pirates say something along the lines of their kids will go hungry, then off. Not sure why your pirates behave differently!
I'm pretty sure all the devs at FD have seen this movie, and it's given them some ideas. I have not seen it, is it any good? I loved the first 3 movies, thought Rogue One was great. Good you posted about it, I probably would never have known otherwise. IGN gave it a great review.
