Horizons So apparently nothing has changed...

I have not played in a few months because I got tired of waiting for fixes and things to do...

And the game is still exactly where it was back then.. Missions that don't work, lack of things to do and so on... So     is going on? Why has there not been at least a patch to fix some of the glaring problems like missions that cannot be finished? I supported this game from day one but I sure as hell do not feel like I am being supported back now by the DEVS.

I don't care about all the big hype for this new version/update constantly being touted. What I care about is playing a game that is fun, does not have bugs that are apparently IGNORED for months on end and lack of any communication on what the hell is going on. I want something that works NOW THEN worry about this new content and additions.

Am I angry? Damn right I am. Logging in after all this time to see nothing has changed... NO excuse.

I've also just come back to the game and have played probably close to 200 hours. Haven't had one mission fail and have plenty of things to do. I'm impressed by how much it has come on in the last year. Not to say it's perfect by any means.

i agree about bugs won't be fixed. not a minor patch for a month.
And all 2.0.1-2.0.5 patches are just
-fixed *crash*
-fixed another *crash*
-fixed launcher crash
-fixed crash when trying to hold all keyboard buttons
-server improvements and fixes
frustrating.
but i still believe in 2.1

"nothing to do" is not about ED.

So if nothings changed, why did you put your topic in "Elite Dangerous Horizons General"?
PLEASE Mr Admin can you move to Dangerous Discussion, with all the other topics similar to this one.

Not really any point 'fixing' missions in the current release of the game when the mission system is being overhauled for the next big release.

There are missions that I avoid but the majority are not broken. Overall I am (still) really enjoying Elite Dangerous - especially joining up with friends online as the p2p networking seems to get more reliable and predictable, plus the numbers of Players I see in my instances seems to be increasing over time.

Updates are coming in slowly, yes, this is true. Bug fixes feel like they are moving through at a glacial pace, yes.

But Frontier is fully aware of these things as they have tried to quell anger a few times..saying major bug fixes and tweaks are coming in 2.1...we'll see. I believe them, but there will still probably be some major ones left outstanding.

Don't get upset though. A game isn't worth that much of your psychological well-being.

Just play something else. That is what I do.

Give me a break... I don't need fanboy replies.

I posted because I am angry that something I EXPECT to be functional after all this time is not. Because I expected PATCHES to fix some of the GLARING issues after all this time. Because I AM a founder and I have a right to express my disappointment in something I helped support based on what we were told.

Do I want more content? Yes. am I      ing about the lack of content? NO. I am      ing about BUGS. BUGS and BUGS. That have been and remain there even though they were reported MONTHS ago.

Now all of you that want to play the fan boy bull    , take it elsewhere if that is all you have to say. I have every right to voice my displeasure about the CURRENT state of the game and NOT what is coming in the future. And you know, for those that want to us the excuse of "well they are working on new changes for the upcoming content update so ......", that is a cop out excuse and you know it. And who is to say we don't see even more problems AFTER that release if they have not even bothered to FIX the current release?

I am sick and tired of seeing a few of you make EXCUSES and try to justify this entire thing when it is NOT acceptable. PERIOD.

Like I said, I am not complaining about content itself rather the BUGS in the CURRENT content that have YET to be fixed.

Edit: BTW... for anyone who wishes to check on someone's "Founder-ness", all it takes (usually) is to see when they started posting on the forums... 2013 was pretty early on :D

I mentioned being a founder to show that I FULLY supported this game from day one so I am not just some kid that happened along, bought a low end package and am not just complaining to complain.

As I also opened with, I have been gone for a few months, returned and booted up only to find NO changes, NO fixes, nothing that has addressed the SAME problems that have been talked about in MANY threads.

Now that might be acceptable to you but it is not to me. That is like saying I bought a car where the motor only ran 5 days out of the week instead of 7. Or the lights only work every 3 times I hit the switch. Yet some of you expect me to ACCEPT that in this product when I would NOT accept that in any other product?

That is the thing I really do not understand. People just going along with it all and not calling things out as they should be. While we are all fans of the game, all want to see it succeed, that does not mean we have to sit here and hold back when it comes to LEGITIMATE criticism. You would not do it with your car or house or other items so why are so willing to do so with this product vs those?

I simply want the major bugs FIXED first. THEN content. Instead all I see we are hearing about now is yet ANOTHER major content release that will probably introduce even more issues above and beyond those we have HAD to live with since the release of Horizons.

The reason nothing has changed is that FDev decided to delay their new-content release schedule in order to spend more resources more thoroughly addressing issues like bugs. (If I understand correctly)

Personally I think that this is the best possible scenario.
I think a slower release schedule will be more effective in the long run than rushing out patches while struggling to meet aggressive content deadlines.

In the short-term however, it means that, yeah, nothing has changed yet ;)
