I am a self confessed fanboy of this game and I like you have been feeling the frustration. People are aware of the issues and they have been talked over a lot these past few months. The issues along with the news of a delay to 2.1 is bothersome but as someone who works in the industry I can see why.
From what I see FD talking about the entire mission system is being re-written and merged with the new faction avatars. This is a BIG job especially to get it right, we'd sooner they get it right than give us another heap of what we currently have.
I know it's frustrating and seems to fly in the face of logic but software can be a <Insert description of female dog here>.
As others have mentioned, have a go at a different game or just play what can be done right now. You do always have the option of coming back when 2.1 is out and seeing how the game handles then.

Then you will suffer. Anger wont contribute in any way, and only makes your suffering worse. Anger can be understandable, but its never useful.

to op: yes i quitted missions a long time ago aswell , but 2.1 is comming as others pionted out im kinda hyped about it , maybe too much. i still play the game much but here fd can only improve so i got good hopes

Reminder : people where sold BETA access to test features +20euros.
Season 1 : from December to June : 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3.
Season 2 ; still waiting for content.
So please keep it in mind before trying to find anger in people post.
People are mainly disappointed and just expose either feelings either what they are waiting for.
We do not need any judgment from people that are confident in FD promises.
Experience from season 1 and season 2 commercial policy changes learned me to not thrust anymore but to wait for real proof of content and gameplay.
For now we are still waiting for quite long.

Season 2 ; still waiting for content.
So please keep it in mind before trying to find anger in people post.

I've been around since alpha. Gave up playing about 4 months ago after doing the whole alpha, beta, gamma, main release etc. I'm a casual player with about an hour or two an evening to play. Not a power player at all.
I gave up because it just grated on me that the game while playable and enjoyable for sure seemed to have fallen into a cycle of release some feature for headlines promise fixes for various irritations and bugs which were piled on top of irritations and bugs from other releases which were also promised to be fixed. It was certainly one of the reasons I quit along with the irritation of previous features being released in a bare boned way which never got any more dev love to flesh them out.

Different point though. My message was in response to this. Besides, anger is useful sometimes (that's why it evolved), can motivate counteractions and such.

Actually, the stone sim isn't far off from the current gameplay after you played through what is currently implemented. But in the next E D update everyone gets... TRACKS! WHOOT! Talk about depth - the new tracks are probably about as deep as the game! FDev needs to start focusing on real gameplay improvements.

As for the usefulness of anger: I believe our frontal lobes have evolved enough that we should be able to do away with most of it. Just because it was useful at some point in the past dont mean its useful anymore ofcourse. Anyway, this is getting miles off-topic.

The most amusing thing is people that fall into hype for sooooo little tiny unsignificant things.
We need real Exploration gameplay improvement
We need Gameplay on planet surface : Where is mining ? Where are flight combat abose surface vs IA ? Where are stuff to discover over surface for far explorers (reminder teasing about community website speaking about previous ancient explorer, ruins, some of them could have survived, and so on and so on).
We need content. This is not acceptable to have "early access" during 7 months without content, with no beta to test when we were charged extra 20Euros to do nothing in fact.
No, there are some bugs, some errors and some complaints that are the same and were heard and upcoming fixes and changes have been announced and there has been an enormous amount of change (SCB meta is much better unless you wing PvP, many more working mission types, smuggling is completely different, bounty hunting is improved by HazRES and CompNAV, chainable missions, rank progress measurement....you can land on planets....SRVs, CQC, not to mention the mountain of stuff coming in 2.1 alone), just not in that one little thing you can't let go.

Thinking back on my own experiences, I think it sometimes has taken me getting angry to prompt me to assist in putting an end to an injustice that may otherwise have endured. I think trying to suppress anger can actually be quite unhealthy. I occasionally use the popular ED teamspeaks like laveradio or whatever. Actually I'd rather speak to you for two reasons. First of all it's far more efficient to talk - it saves time as a lot more information can be exchanged in a shorter period, including the information lost in a person's tone and expressions - you don't have to wait for replies and you get feedback immediately...and secondly because I'm curious what's going on with you. Maybe you're a nice guy, which if you are would make you quite interesting considering the way you talk to people...unfortunately though I doubt it as you have this way of provoking instead of informing - for example, you didn't actually answer my question, and when writing to me you used the term "confrontation" suggesting that I want to be hostile, which isn't really fair so your behaviour obviously rings alarm bells. Then there's the come in disguise thing, implying that I'm deceitful (why would I go in disguise? That'd be mental), etc - but I wanted to be sure I wasn't wrong. Ultimately though, if you are arrogant/nasty/condescending/sly/whatever, I'll get bored fairly quickly. If you were cool though - yeah it should be worth my time...and of course it'd be my bad for getting the wrong end of the stick.

You're angry and you should be. You were sold a product that doesnt work, and the maker is completely ignoring this in favor of...whatever it is Frontier is doing now other than working on Elite...
The state of the game is frankly inexcusable at this point. I am sure that, in reality, Frontier are working on it. However, they should have put in the time prior to the release of the content, not after.
This is the very reason I will not buy Season 3 until the end, when the content is present and finished, if it is by then. If not, I will wait even longer. But I have no intention of ever buying another season up front again. Fool me twice...

For wanting a product they paid for to work? Next time you buy a computer, ask for one without RAM and have them ship it to you separately. When they feel like doing so. Or try a car without brakes perhaps.
