So dissapointed with my CV1

Dont be, ED is going to get fixed, we are having a blast with Vr experiences, you dont know what battledome is maybe or the presence you get playing pool on pool nation vr with a friend in a bar talking about geek stuff. On the other hand i fell bad for oculs users, so much wait but havent had a real vr experince yet until touch arrives. I can imagine then playing with an xbox controllers and make me so sad for them.

You don't have to feel bad for us Oculus users. Never use the Xbox controller. If you don't think flying aircraft in DCS with hotas and rudder is immersive you don't fly. If you don't think racing in a F1 car in Iracing is immersive you don't drive. .I would rather go to a simunition range or at least painball, but if Battle dome fills your void that's fine. As far as all the hands in the game stuff, I hope by the time Touch gets here there will be something more compelling. That's not to say we won't all see some neat stuff over time. It's all good.

I barely understand what people are talking about when they say god rays. I see god rays in loading screens. I do notice that if my headset is not aligned just right I see more god rays. Maybe the dimensions and fit change from dk2 to cv1 are the issue?

If you focus on some flaw then it's all you will see. If you're very picky about image quality then VR will be disappointing.

Agreed, it is there but I play the game and truly enjoy the experience again.
From my point of view its like the canopy when the sun hits it. (Another thing I see complaints about, how can it be dirty its in space. Umm well that's because there is an inside to the glass as well and its occupied by greasy humans and well oiled machines :) )
I have a Visor on my Helmut so that explains the god rays and internal reflections.

Would I prefer not to have it yes, but it only bothers you if you want it too..
Its like when someone points out the missing pixel after you have used it without noticing it for weeks. Its now the end of the world and is totally blocking your view if you let it.

In regards to the comments that it is the software. Well it is to a point but its a hardware issue and contrast highlights it, which is why you notice it more in ED. Bright Glowy objects just below your centre of view against the blackness of the cockpit and space. All lenses are a compromise (even in my 8 thousand dollar telescope) They are balance between Weight, Focal length, Distortion, Field of view, chromatic aberrations, etc. Trust me you don't want 2 of those on your face and I still get god rays from bright stars :)

I much prefer what we have now to the horrible chromatic colour separation we had to put up in earlier headsets. I still think they could have done better with complex glass lenses but the headsets would have been bigger, heavier and a lot more expensive.

ED is the discussion point because its environment is exactly the type of environment that highlights this particular flaw in a lens. The alternative is to get rid of all the blackness in space and the glowy instruments, but man that would not be ED.
Turn down you hud to minimal setting and push your gamma up to help reduce it, or play something with a brighter look like no mans sky.
