So how do you upload a screenshot to the forums?

So I tried to upload a screenshot (1080 x 1024) to the screenshot thread except it won't let me saying the size is to large, could someone please tell me how your supposed to upload the pic because I can't seem to find it anywhere!

No, you can upload smaller images as the second reply stated. Imgur is just easier (imo).

No don't zip it, use paint or something to reduce it's size, convert it to PNG or JPG or any of a number of methods, zip won't work.

No, you can use the forums as well, but as you've seen for yourself, it's not as convinient and fast as using something like imgur.

No need to resize or convert anything. Press Screenshot button -> Go to folder with screenshot -> Drag&Drop screenshot into your imgur account -> Copy&Paste BBCode link into forum -> done

Just took a look a imgur, I’d have to sign up - was going too, then it started asking for phone details etc, it’s just not worth it for a single screenshot. That said, it could be the fact I’ve not saved the file as a JPG as Gibbon suggested.

I think it needs to be below 1MB for from-disk embedding. So any image of good size only fits in as jpeg really.

Just took a look a imgur, I’d have to sign up - was going too, then it started asking for phone details etc, it’s just not worth it for a single screenshot. That said, it could be the fact I’ve not saved the file as a JPG as Gibbon suggested.

You don't need to sign up to upload/share images from Imgur. (Only if you intend to share the pictures on Imgur itself, you need to be signed in.)

Browse to the front page and hit the "New post" button, drop your image and copy the image link.

Here on the forum select Insert image -> By URL -> paste the link and hit Insert.

Hit the button

You should see this. Drag and drop the image(s), wait for an Upload Complete-notification.

Right-click on the image and select 'Copy image link' option. (Don't use the crossed out Copy link-button. It creates a link to the "gallery" page containing the image(s).)
