If you enter a CZ turn 180° and fly away from the nav point ca. 10km, then turn ship again into the direction of the action. Now choose faction and enjoy that nothing happens, you have all time now to look at what's going on and what to engage and where to stay away.
And if using turrets make sure twice they fire at target only, because fire at will make you face some more oponents.
It's pretty easy, but for some reason you guys won't do, but make sure you get the enemies attraction as quick as possible, as much as possible.
Last night I was destroyed 3 times trying to do a Commodity Find and Deliver by an NPC Elite Pilot Interdictiom - 24,000,000 credits lost and only just have enough for 1 replacement Conda now - The game is now Dangerous (and more fun), but I am scared and contemplating how to return to Credits...? 
I haven't lost a thing. As I've not played in multi-person instances where combat was occurring I've never encountered AI with super-weapons. So far, I've had a couple scrapes in the Courier (mostly messing around with combat w/o using an SCB or armor) that would've been one-sided AI stomp-a-thons pre-2.1. It's been pretty nice, to be honest.
I have lost nothing, but have gain a few million in the few hours I have managed to get in.
Another update, had a 5500cr repair bill last night, and blew up a Sidewinder to test something which produced a ~20Kcr rebuy.
I seem to have ended up up about 5million :/ I'm finding my pootling more profitable post-2.1 which is a genuine surprise
And I've got the most ridiculously long list of bounties i ought to collect at some point. Is suiciding in a sidey to clear your uncollected bounties you can't be bothered with poor form?

That feeling when you have to scroll the list and have no idea where anything is and accidentally find yourself sitting in a sidewinder testing the auto distruct sequence to validate it's (still) working. (sounds of frying noises in back ground.. Eject eject eject). Yep. Still working.
