Wait are you telling me that a pirate who took your cargo become an ally that defended you??? Wanted pirates sometimes fight eachother. Was there something else going on that made you think it wasn't just going to rob you again but got distracted?

It definitely did defend me.
After the second interdictor popped the original pirate turned away and started flying patrol around the instance.
No aggression.

Sometimes they do that, other times once the second interdictor is toast they turn their attention back to you. If I'm in my corvette, that's second helpings right there.

Previously you mentioned " You could always drop them a few items. That'll get them off your back." but in my case this was one of those old murder hobo AIs. There was no communication, he was already firing before my ship stopped spinning from the lost interdiction. Once upon a time, the AIs were always murder hobos but they fixed most of them to demand cargo, which is great. In this case, it's almost like he knew I had mission cargo only and wasn't about to drop any of it.

I know the T9 got a second size 8 slot...I think it needed two extra though (limitations/impossibility of the actual physical size aside)

It is just out to kill you. Minor faction ain't wanting you delivering on their turf.
