So I now have a pet Beluga....

I am still on the fence about this ship....

Pros:
Love the cockpit view (feels like my face is going to get smashed against the wall when I leave the hangars)
That fasten seatbelt ding when boosting (I'm making those passengers go plaid)
Wow, this whale is maneuverable.
For as big as she is, I must have a knack for her because I had to boost out of the slot on my first flight (illegal pax, should've read the mission docket).
Did I mention how responsive this beast is?

Cons:
Why such a massive heat buildup when charging the FSD? I have never had that happen.
I'm still A-rating her, but this lack of jump range....its a giant cruise liner, let's get these pax's there fast
I know it has dedicated cabin slots, but so much lost potential there....

I may just keep this a dedicated pax ship and keep her parked in the bubble.

After engineering I have mine running cool as any other ship, the Beluga does run quite hot stock. Mine has 31ly range with G5 FSD roll, important to note is that im fully unarmed and have a single SRV.

I absolutely love the beluga. Like you said it was very surprising how quick and maneuverable it is. However I had to get rid of it because I could never get the hang of getting it out of the stations without getting stuck and blowing it up. I probably spent more on rebuying it then I did with the purchase and outfitting.

Really want to get it again but just don't know if I will ever get the hang of leaving a station in it.

Please try again.

There's only one way to cross the mailslot with miss Beluga. Once you get it it's like another ship... just scratching the rear wings sometimes but nothing special. ^^"

I made more than 50 000 Ly with my Beluga in exploration and must say i'm agree with all the things you said guys : it's a great ship with a lot of good points :

- Maneuverable in supercruise : awesome for the size !
- Jump range : mine is 30 Ly with cabins, SRV, Auto repair module, small shield (can't go without a shield exploring... just can't).
- Wooo the panoramic cockpit view ! \o/

Also :

- You can put a 6A fuel scoop in ! Cheers !
- Because there's a lot of space inside you don't feel confined like in a small ships so maybe it's a good remedy against claustrophobia (or space madness). You can do the morning jogging in the long corridors ! ^_~
- You can do some great business with or without a fighter and a npc crew member inside the bubble.
- Last but not least : The size ! It's a flying building ! I love to fly it !

Dragun, once I finish A rating her I'll have to give her the engineer treatment. Glad to hear that the heat issues can be remedied.

Fraltic, I keep her dead center low in and out of the slot (around where the faint blue atmosphere shield starts being visible at the bottom). I haven't hung up once yet.

Lemnear, I may just use her for my first long distance pax mission. So for the furthest I've been out is to the rift in my Annie.

I've been contemplating the Big B, but was concerned about the heat problem and short jump range, compared to the Conda 43Ly. But you all have convinced me to try it. I've made a few pax trips in my Conda, one round trip from Jaques to Sol, and love the Conda, but I'd like to try in in luxury in the B. I wish we had one available to buy at Jaques, only small ships here. I'll have to go back and get one.

You can get about 28ly on average with the typical exploration gear, Mine gets 31 with a sheild, single srv, 6A fuel scoop, 2 heat sinks and my scanners & 16t cargo. The Heat is a real problem so go with the A spec Powerplant and engineer it for best heat management. The Supercruise manuverablity is great.

Thanks for the tips. I'm loading up on mats for a visit to Farseer. Then I'll go back to the bubble and get me a Beluga. Can't rep you so soon, so virtual rep to you, my friend. o7

Anytime o7, im actually in my Beluga right now visiting the local Supergiants and Planetary Nebulas for some passengers.

oh......well you just ruined my dreams of rolling landings and take off's.
The landing pads have less room than the airstrips at Chicago Midway airport. You could still try it, but will probably just Airplane into the landing pad building, ramp off the blast deflectors, or get the landing gear caught in the something in the station. Although, it would be nice for planetary landings. Now I'm wishing we had wheels.......I blame this on you. Hahaha.

I gave him some rep, for the great advice and because you need to share your love.

I pretty much do this already. Im lucky those little buildings at the ends of the launch pads are built from some seriously tough stuff......

But think of if, we get atmo landings, complete white out conditions, you have to do a full instrument approach and landing. You think a low gravity srv jaunt is bad, try it in a Beluga!
