Ok, if you fail escaping from interdiction you shouldn't take damage, if you are failing to escape and it looks obvious you are going to be beaten then quickly zero the throttle, this will drop you to normal space with no damage and no extended FSD cooldown. Your attacker will however have the extended FSD cooldown and damage because your exit forces him to drop out unexpectedly. When interdicted set throttle to 75%, don't leave it at full, that's a common mistake for beginners, 75% puts it in the blue zone, that will give you better maneuverability and better chance to escape. Not sure why you are suffering damage when losing interdiction, mind you it's been so long since I lost an interdiction maybe I am wrong and you do, not going to get anyone to interdict me to find out, someone will let us know the actual situation soon enough.

I always submit to being 'ganked', I'm thinking of the bounty plus, you don't have to wait for your scan to complete to see if their clean. Just lock on and give 'em hell.

My view was that if I was going to lose it then he/she wasn't getting it. Happily those days are long gone and piracy is no longer a thing in this game.

Agreed. Pirates are pirates, scum of the seas, give them nothing, make them pay for what they are trying to take, if it requires self destruct then that's all part of the game, if it wasn't there wouldn't be a self destruct button right?

It is also there because some people don’t have the patience to wait the 5-25? minutes for their life support to fail and they hear themselves breathe their last after running out of fuel.

However, I believe @Marvin the Martian is talking about being the interdictor - afair you always take some damage after making (performing) an interdiction.

Tbh, do what you like. I usually submit and if they don't start firing straightaway then I stay and chat and reduce their demands to something more palatable.

I think it's a shame piracy isn't more of a thing, but you're right in that the pirated party bears all the risk and the cost of being, essentially, robbed. Hard to make that fun.
