You should watch the Dev Q&A. If you can find it, as it's hidden in the current 4h+ livestream...So for now we have FPS action inside surface bases versus other players. That's it.

Nope - that's the Dev Diary - not the far more interesting 30 minute Q&A...It is here:
Elite Dangerous: Odyssey | The Road To Odyssey Part 3 - Sphere of combat
Greetings Commanders, The first developer diary gave us a look at exploration and the second gave us a look at missions, spacesuits and station interiors. In Dev Diary 3 we're charging into the fray with the Sphere of Combat in Elite Dangerous: Odyssey. We'll be sharing a break down of the...forums.frontier.co.uk

Me too! Know your limitations, my mam always told me...

I must have missed the Q&A...(I kept dropping into the stream but not after the Dev Diary!) Maybe they'll post it tomorrow?
Thanks! I'm currently listening to it
Havent watched it myself yet, this was posted on reddit, I guess this is part of it?You should watch the Dev Q&A. If you can find it, as it's hidden in the current 4h+ livestream...
Points from the last half hour.
- You can run over players on "ground vehicles" (Just the Scarab?)
- Base defenses can pose a significant threat to ships
- 3-6 on foot players can probably overpower an SRV
- You can meet the existing engineers on foot in person
- There are new Odyssey engineers for suits and weapons
- The basic flight suit is basically the stock sidewinder of suits
- Settlements can now become conflict zones
- You have to turn on your shield - presumably it drains power while active
He mentioned being flown in a dropship and watching a life-like ground battle between two factions (all NPCs) reveal itself below him around a settlement with ships attacking. Sounded drool-worthy.
Yeah, worth a watch, and as Ratcatcher said - hopefully they will post a proper version Soon...Havent watched it myself yet, this was posted on reddit, I guess this is part of it?
and
I'll second that... Now if I can get this silly grin off my face!Yeah, worth a watch...
ExcellentYeah, worth a watch, and as Ratcatcher said - hopefully they will post a proper version Soon...
edit: It also have a lot more about Power Core play - reactivating settlements, dropship reinforcements, NPC levels.
I have read through countless Odyssey threads but can't seem to find the answer. Will there be FPS AI bots to kill when playing in solo mode ? If it's been covered I apologise but I cannot find a straight answer. The FAQ does not cover it.
