Somebody screwed up the crontab (Sunday is 0). 150 credits on it.
When looking for something else somewhere spotted over the last week somewhere it said servers go down every Thursday morning briefly for weekly update. I had assumed rightly so (trying not to be smug and failing) powerplay would update cycle then.
Yes it should be clearer but once people know, as long as it stays the same shouldn't be an issue.
Even having a warning message 'Warning you have unclaimed merit points or powerplay goods, less than 24 hours until update cycle' might be good for those that are relevant when they login etc. Or even longer... Those without unspent items on login or those ignoring powerplay don't get bothered by countdowns then.

why were you saving them? any reason to not just hand them in as you get them?
I was about 15 jumps away from home, undermining / taking out enemy ships.
NOT going to do that round trip every couple of hours.................

are there specific systems in which you have to kill bounties in order to get merit vouchers?
happened to me too, was on a massive undermine missions last night, had 465 merits in my ship ready to hand in today (as it was too late last night and I needed sleep), only for powerplay to tick over a day early compared to when it came out, it came out on a Friday night, if it wasn't going to wait a full week before ticking over then FD should have made it VERY CLEAR when it was due to tick over. Yet another nail in the coffin, at this rate it's gonna be more nails than wood, Amatuer hour doesn't even come close!
Edit, have ticketed this and posted it in the bug forums, I suggest everyone who this has happened to does the same, its not on, we lose out because of FD's lack of planning/info/foresight once more...

Yeah, I'm soo glad I returned to control system last night to hand mine in, I did think about just docking in Imperial space and going at it again today but decided to play it safe.
Unclaimed merits should decay at the same rate that claimed merits do, not just vanish.

Ditto. Didn't know it was going to cycle over Thursday. Pretty ticked off about this, more so over the lost nominations and commodity allocations I was supposed to receive.

Game is broken anyways, their official manual says merits only transfer 50% from last week, which would fit precisely with the weekly 50mil cr fitting being rank 5 with 10k merits and then losing 5k merits which equals 50mil cr to if fasttracked to reacquire rank 5.
But since it only costs you 100mil which is basicly only 20 hours of grinding on a decent trade route in an anaconda, its both more time efficient and economical to just fast track all the merits for a total of 24 trips if you have an anaconda, to be rank 5 fast, then you get the full benefits after 5 days and you get 50mil back.
If though they dont take away 50% of your merits, then you now have a 50mil cash cow that grinds for you weekly.
here is my day 1 and my day 5 merit screens:

Before the server reset I dumped all of my out of date legislative goods. No need for them.
Upon reset, I've got them back.
Now surely some Einstein over at ed towers could have set everyone's "out of date goods" to................ in date? Rolling with that, if they had this on server, couldn't they have "in-dated" our combat credits.
