Unknown fragments (sensor fragments) weren't that hard to collect thankfully.
Just find an alien crash site. I used this one --->System: HIP 17403 Moon: A 4 A Coords: -34.98, -141.41
Sensor fragments lying on the ground and shoot the unknown artifacts to generate more.
Piece of cake.

No special racks are needed. The fragments aren't dangerous like the unknown artifacts. I don't think they even count as cargo. They show up in your materials tab if I recall correctly.
