So now Planet Coaster has been launched...

..maybe FDev can put 100% manpower into making ED the best it can possibly be?

Maybe?

No?

Well, one can wish...![big grin]
Seriously stop that, that is not how game development works, frontier has different teams doing different games.
Sure there can be some exchanges between devs with experience and whatnot.

But please consider that the planet coaster engine, might entirely be able to help Elite further down the road...you know...adding npc's with the crowd engine that behave realistically, adding realistic worlds you know..atmospheric planets?

Seems to be doing well enough.

Especially as reviews come in...I think there are probably a good number of people wanting to see how it stands up against the Atari version.

And you know, those paid monthly will probably wait until end of month.

Paid monthly? What is that?

Don't you just buy the game and then install/play it?

Forgive me for not keeping up with the all the trends and doo-dads. ;)

EDIT: NVM, I am dense...people who get paid monthly....sorry, been a while since I was living paycheck to paycheck

No. Id have various IP's, such as Doom, Castle Wolfenstein, Quake, Rage, Hexen (man I loved that game back in the day).

I am sure there are more, but these are the ones I can think off the top of my head.

Don't waste your breath. This is clearly not about facts but about opinions.

So your claiming that because a small subset of users didn't buy through steam AND did not redeem their steam keys to play the game through steam like a normal person that ED's steam numbers don't matter?

Seems legit! /s

I'm one of the 'small' million or so subset. Why the hell would I want to register the game I had already installed on my HD and was playing just fine onto my steam account? This may shock you but some people give not one fig for the fapfest about their steam stats and collecting badges and all that crap, or indeed for having their (crappy) launcher running in the background all the time. I only use steam for games that I had to buy through it, or that were bought through it due to big discounts in sales. There is literally no reason for me to register a game that I don't have to launch via steam.

Yes, but Wolfenstein wasn't developed in the same timeframe as Quake.

I wasn't implying iD ever only had one title. Merely that having one active title at the time is not a recipe for bankruptcy. For years, Blizzard did this (warcraft, then starcraft, etc) before they launched into WoW. Same with Bungie (Marathon, then Myth) and Westwood (CnC, RedAlert, etc.)

But you have no idea how long they worked on other franchises before announcing/releasing them.

Can I change my Elite Dangerous for a copy of Planet Coaster then?

It looks very fun but I won't buy it until FD makes Elite a serious game and fun.

Meh, there are always issues after every major expansion, and it takes some time to work them out, but they generally do. The scope of ED is way larger and more complex than PC.
