So the 42 dinos DO NOT include the IRex

I edited my post to reference Chris's statement. Also, I mentioned Mutty because some appeared to be thinking the topic was in reference to the very last dinosaur on the list, the iguanodont (which is 100% confirmed to be Mutty).

I mean, BIS himself has been playing the game and unlocked I. Rex, so if he's convinced it's Indominus, it actually is. In the discord for the reddit he was strongly suggesting it was Indominus. He's saying it without saying it, more or less.

I get what you mean, I figured after wathcing all the new videos it was the I-REX. I was just hoping for something different.

Lower lufeng dig site still doesnt have a dinosaur and i do not think it is dilophosaurus.

The Dilophosaurus will be the "Asian species" - which is Dilophosaurus sinensis aka Sinosaurus. What dig site is this species known from - the Lower Lefeng series.

IF you still do not believe me - look at this - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lower_Lufeng_Series

But based on the species list and dig site list - for the base game - the following dig sites have no known species.
- Bissekty Formation
- Tegama Beds(Elrhaz formation)
- Maevarano Formation

So it is likely that these dig sites will only unlock - if you have the Deluxe edition.

Most likely not even in the game at all of you don't own the deluxe edition since it wouldn't be fair for people with just the original.

Guys it could be a dinosaur with g, it's after Gallimimus, so it could be Godzilla. Legendary owns the right's to the jurassic films and godzilla. This is indeed a BIG secret. I am obviously joking tho ^^

[haha] That would wicked cool - if true.

But would also create a MAJOR containment problem - after all how do you contain a beast which is over 100 meters tall,

Okay I'm confused... the start of the thread says Indominus is confirmed to not count as one of the 37 dinosaurs known to be in the base game (42 if you count the deluxe edition)... but now there are people who are saying it is one of the 37? So is Indominus number 37 or 38?

Yeah, I thought the guy saying "it's one we all know" was the same guy saying it's not I-Rex?

It does fit in alphabetically as Indominus, so I reckon it must be that.

Think the claim it's not Indominus may be wrong.

I read the reddit posts you're referring to. I believe the comment about it not being I-Rex was in response to another comment about the last dinosaur on the list (after Mamenchi), which was Muttaburrasaurus.

We don't know for sure. I really hope the people that are saying the obscure dinosaur isn't Indominus are right and we get something special.

Calling it now. Mosasaurus.

Reasons

A - It has to be something good to warrant the secrecy. Some obscure dino like Sinosaurus won't cut it.
B - I Rex is ruled out.
C - Indoraptor will be FK DLC
D - Carnivore

I think it's the big surprise. They'll be a pre-built Mosasaur tank on Isla Nublar (or an option to place a pre-built one) and we can breed a Mosasaurus for it.

Nothing else fits. If Giga hadn't been confirmed then I'd say yeah, it's probably Giga. But there isn't another big name carnivore that will fit. Acro maybe... but is Acro one worth keeping hidden? Surely, if they were keeping a regular dino secret as a big surprise it would be Giga since she was the most wanted after the big ones (Rex, Raptor, Spino etc).

So calling it. We can breed Mosasaurus.
As much as I want the Mosasaurus (and other Aquatic Dinosaurs) I don't think they'd release a single Aquatic Dino before a DLC pack. The Mososaur will come (hopefully) but likely as part of an Aquatic DLC. I fully expect this last Dino to be land based. More than happy to be wrong, but I just don't see them throwing in an Aquatic (or Avian) Dino before they've built up the Aquatic & Avian features.

I-Rex is not part of the 37, some one on reddit made a hoax out of it, we knowq 36/37 dinos in the base game.

It's definitely part of the 37 though?

Excellent.

Love a bit of a mystery... and this is a big mystery. Alphabetically (unless Frontier have swerved us) it's gotta fit in between Gallimimus and Kentrosaurus, it's a carnivore and, apparently something that everybody knows.

I'm still gonna stick with Mosasaurus as a placeable enclosure/attraction and the placement in the species chart is possibly a swerve.

But if it's accurate then ... fairly well known dinosaurs beginning with G-K and carnivores. Gorgosaurus, Guanlong, Herrerasaurus, Irritator... struggling to think of anything else.

We're not getting any aquatic/flying reptiles in the base game because they need their own enclosures and allied material which isn't in the game at the moment, and Frontier have stated they're waiting until after release to work on those so they're not half-***ed attempts at it. And since all of the dinosaurs from the films are in the game, of course it's Indominus rex.
