So there is no point doing any on foot missions?

So I've tried multiple on foot missions and even working around the fact with salaving missions you get no pointer as to where you are going, same for transportation missions even if you do manage to figure them out you then get back to base to hand in and get "Failed to perform mission transaction". Does anything work outside of CZs with horrible frame rates? I'd love to try some operation missions but all I find is missions to power up stations in Colonia when I'm in the bubble...

When you hand in the mission, it does go through, only the mission is not removed. You have to log out and back in to get your missions off the list and items transferred.

Crappy payment for lengthy missions (exterminate X faction at X establishment), and EVERY time I take one of those, the faction is tipped off (I have to kill about 21 NPC's). The mission pays around 300k, and an extra 95k for additional NPC's because of the tip off. My only problem is that these missions can take me around 2 or more hours, and there's that never ending problem of chewing through the power because the shields are on, and not enough ammo. Trying to get these things (or even using the tool to regen power), is extremely hard with 21 NPC's out for your blood - Okay, about 11 of them are workers who remain in the buildings, so only about 10/11 are after me!
I can make millions in ED Horizons in that time, but I must admit that I'm determined to upgrade my suits and weapons. I keep dying pretty darn fast in the on foot combat! :(

Well you do the on-foot missions to get materials, not money, i mean, that's what i'm doing, and it's pretty ok, unless you get the "mission failed" when you turn in the mission :D
A lot of wasted time for no reason..

When you get to the settlement for the mission, just use a terminal, it'll give you a compass marker to what ever you need, and if it's in a locked container, the code to open it. It's pretty simple. I'm sorry it was too much for you.

You're lucky you got to start a mission, only onfoot mission(assassination mission) I've taken since the Beta launched was a fail because I couldn't disembark at the site due to unsafe temperatures.

Ok, instead of just being snarky, I figured I would help you out too. Once you get to the settlement, it tells you roughly where to find an item:

Then head to a terminal with that information, and click on facilities:

My item was in the exterior, so I clicked on that and scrolled to the container that had the quest icon:

now you have a quest marker on your compass:

it's really not hard at all

A) I'm getting no compass marker.

B) When I go back to hand in the mission I get an error message saying the transaction failed. I've tried relogging and the mission disappears, and no items are in my inventory.

Did you not even look at the second post I made?

Of course you didn't Not surprised...

You're doing missions at the lowest ranking, what did you expect? Seems like pay goes up with ranks just like ship stuff does though.

Pay's gonna suck for a while.

Even though I'm allied to all the factions, bar one (I'm friendly, almost allied) in the system where I take the missions?

So it differs from the normal Horizons missions by not allowing me to take higher missions?
If that's the case, I'd hate see what a Threat Level 7+ mission will be like when I'm ranked higher than Defencless!

If you get a mission where you have to steal something, for example, you have to use the base computers first in order to stage the base-specific location of the stuff you need. I find the system pretty fun, actually. And the combat zones are fun as well I haven't tried the biological scanner yet, but the stuff Odyssey has, is an interesting addition to the game. Of course, if you don't care about any of those things, then it doesn't really add anything for you.

I'm pretty sure this is his problem, since he's not using the terminals, the game is not spawning the specific version of the item needed to complete the quest, that's why he's getting a mission failed, I'll test this later.
