So.... what are you playing? Odyssey or Horizons?

Update 5 was a slight downhill in performance for me. On the ground its hard to get above 40 fps - that becomes quite nauseating on a large screen. I have gotten motion sick a few times.

Currently trying to get a refund, but they deny that because I waited until after update 5. I wanted to give them the chance - my mistake.
That's what we get for trusting @Arthur Tolmie when he said to give the devs until the end of June.
All that really did was run out the clock on people submitting refund requests.

I too got denied an Odyssey refund after patch 5, because of time elapsed.

In Odyssey for now, things seem okay. Then again, I'm in the Void so both play pretty much the same for me at the moment.

Odyssey, but only because the bounties are higher. Can finally pew pew again a bit without feeling like I'm wasting my time.

I don't play elite much anymore, but the last several times I have fired up the game I played in Oddity. But I play it like Horizons. I do like the better eye-candy (what there is...), and the increased bounties in the haz res sites. Still getting used to the stupid changes to the UI, but I'm getting better. I've not bothered much with the legs portion of the game since the alpha.

If I want to do a quick build of a new ship I fire up Horizons. 'nuff said on that.

I am mainly sticking with Horizons - the FPS stuff does not interest me anyway. I keep loading-up Oddity and exercising aspects of it, looking for improvements - there certainly have been performance improvements but not enough for me to suffer lower frame-rates and the general dimness than in the real game. I also find Horizons planets more enjoyable as in finding more than one meteorite or outcrop per hour for example. ;)

I bought MSFS 2020 for my VR flight fix, so that mostly. I pop into EDO on my exploration account to check things out after updates (frame rates and planet textures in the main.)

It may not make much sense but Horizons seems a little pointless to me as it begins its slow walk towards the scaffold.

Why would i play Horizon when Odyssey Planetary tech is superior to Horizon as seen in the picture below:

Odyssey is the White one.

Sure Update 5 brought some stuttering even to space, but it's still better than what Horizon is offering. And while there was a dive in FPS in Space too, it wasn't as problematic as on the surface settlements.

Right now, I'm starting to play Odyssey more than I was, because I felt overall, Update 5 was a net step forward.

When it comes to the heavy space flight stuff (conflict zones, bounty hunting), I'm switching to Horizons because I prefer the lighting and silky smoothness.

Overall, post-Update 5, I'd say I'm 75% EDH, 25% EDO. I hope to eventually go 100% EDO as further updates follow.
Haven't (yet) bought the Odyssey PC Beta, so I'm still on Horizons. Gonna wait until the console-ready finished DLC is released before I consider buying it.

Bought Odyssey for planet tech. played for few hours, wish I had refunded, quit playing ED. Maybe this time I won't ever return and regretting purchase of odyssey.
Try Evochron Legacy SE (Steam summer sale for another couple of days). Free demo to see if you can get past the graphics but this evening I flew thru a thunder storm that battered my ship about (no rain drops, just the sounds), but flying up thru the clouds out of the weather is just sublime - and no magic floating on planets; if you cut your engines or fly below a certain speed you fall and die. Recently upgraded the engine to Vulcan (one dev I believe) and proper VR and <some> modding.

It's what I was hoping Elite Dangerous would become with better graphics.

Space is fine in Hor or Odd for me. - anything to do with bases or NPC characters or concourse is so low it actually makes me a bit sick on MacBook Pro 2018 Bootcamp getting 60 fps MID 1080 ( anything but ODD content ) ODD i get 15-20 or less if the lights come on
