So what is the current Criminality mechanics (now)? 7 days now unable to pay bounty... Then...?

What about your other ships you own that are stored elsewhere? Do you loose those too or keep them?

That's a good question that I don't know the answer to. I'm definitely not going to find out the answer :)

My hope would be that your stored ships are left alone - especially if they've been stored in other jurisdictions. That way there'd be a sort of sly criminal element of fraud to declaring yourself bankrupt, getting your crimes and fines cleared and then going to your hidden hangar and tugging the canvas off the Anaconda you squirreled away for just such an eventuality. Hopefully there isn't a way of exploiting that (except in-game-lore-wise).

A useful test for anyone who is willing, preferably not with too many assets. Buy a Sidewinder. Store it. Rack up some crazy fines. Get blown up in the fine-issuer's jurisdiction. Let us know if you still have your stored ship after you've been declared bankrupt :)

That was the point of the whole post! Perfectly relevant to crime mechanics if you ask me. I'm not risking my 90m T9 to find out!

Heh, yeah, but the mechanics of bankruptcy and whether stored ships survive past it can't be a new question - the new criminality mechanics wouldn't have affected it. Still be interesting to know though.

Ok, so now that it's clear as mud consider this. You go on an extended crime spree and rack up over time several million in bounties that have went dormant, then retired to legacy fines. So say you now have 10mil in fines at station A. You just finished upgrading your fleet and leaves you with 200k. You buy a sidewinder from station B and go back to station A where you have the legacy fines and dock. On the way out your sidewinder blows up for whatever reason, you have over 10 million in fines, was flying a sidewinder, and only have 200k in the bank couse you just fully outfitted you high end fleet along with a few midrange ships as a way to store credits?
What happens then? Do you just loose the 200k you have? What about the other 9,800,000 you owe? Does it go away because you don't have the cash? Are you stuck in limbo and unable to respawn?

i believe you would be declared bankrupt... so would have to restart in a sidey with 1000 credits... You would keep your ranks and your other ships stored elsewhere and you would probably have your legacy fine cleared...

My basis for this assessment is as follows, I have gone bust before back in beta 2 or so, I had stored ships and was allowed to keep them so I just had to travel to my stored ship yard to continue on in one of my other ships... of course you can then sell said ships and recoup some credits and continue on... This is one of the main reasons why keeping your last ship when you upgrade to a new one is a great idea... it gives you a fall back posiition if the worst possible thing happens...

I'm a little confused now... So I've killed other Power's agents in numerous CONTROL systems so have committed murder, so I'm wanted there. I've docked in stations in those system and never once encountered a problem? Infact I've got very blasé about it now....

Has enforcement/detection been dialed right back so you can simpyl fly in/out of stations as a known murderer without any worry?

When you approach a station, they don't know you're wanted until an authority ship scans you. This means if you can get in and land without being scanned, you won't be shot. And taking off, while you're in the station, you won't be scanned. If you can jump away after exiting the slot without being scanned, again, they won't realise you have a bounty on you.

True, but it does seem to be a bit easier than before. Could be just my wrong impression though.

Understood, but as sleutelbos says it almost seems a non-point now. Even though I'm wanted for murder I just fly into stations now without even thinking twice about it. And other CMDRs I know are the same.

Ah, sorry - I misunderstood you. I have no idea, though I have very recently (today) been scanned coming in and out of stations. I wasn't going very fast though - speed seems to be the primary way of avoiding scans, and that's what I use when smuggling (FAOFF boost when aligned with slot from 7.5 km, modules off, heat sink deployed, fast drift in). I haven't been scanned very often doing that. I hadn't noticed that recently, but then I'm not pledged and usually not Wanted at the stations I dock at, so my experience isn't much use.
