So...what to do?

OK, I'm in multiplayer, have been exploring for a while....what to do now?
Without a tutorial is hard to enter the mechanics, so...what to do? And how?
And how understand what the buyable ship upgrades are? And BTW, how to make some money? :)

Welcome to Prem beta :)

Id say have a flick through the last few pages here on the forums in both the general section and the Beta discussion section.

Many of the things you'll be looking for have been discussed at length since the release.

Might help you to get going in any case.

Well, if you look on your left screen in your cockpit (press 1) you can see various points of interest. Each system has a view. One thing you can do in the Eranin system is to go to the conflict zones and get into some dogfights! You can earn lots of creds this way too. If you go there, hit 3 to go to your ship screen, go all the way to the last tab (Functions) and choose a faction. Killing the opposite faction nets you 500 creds per kill and it is great practice.

You can also go on trade runs, which can be very complex if you don't know what you are doing. However, there are plenty of threads that can help you. :)

Happy flying!

On a fundamental level, you should investigate various points of interest. These include space stations, unidentified signals, and various combat scenarios. You can access these points of interest fro the navigation panel on your left screen.

I would also suggest dropping mulitplayer right now and work through some of the single player scenarios.

These introduce new ships systems to you as you progress through them and will give you a good handle on what is going on. When you know where everything is come back to MP and that's where the real fun begins.

I would, but ATM I'm stuck in the 3rd mission...LOL
No way to get out until Devs will nerf a little bit the extreme precision flying skill skill of enemy ship. xD
So frustrated.

Don't take this the wrong way, but it doesn't need nerfing. What you need to do is practise. Learn to fly the ship better, make use of its features. Fly smarter in essence.

Is the 3rd mission. The 3rd. Is a tutorial. Tutorial.
Been practicing for hours. It destroys me when is so far that I can't even SEE it. And I play on a BIG screen. LOL

Unfortunately, I can only advice to keep practicing. Single Player scenarios are not difficult at all.

Have you tried different controller devices, e.g. KB/M?

Are you using default preset for XBOX controller?

You can't see it! I don't think any of the ships in the tutorials use Silent Running. Are you sure you are following the instructions and watching the scanner?

That's your opinion. And I do respect it.
Sadly, MANY people think about it in my same way. So yes, for many, its hard, for few, its easy.
BTW, I haven't bought DarkSouls 2. For the same reason. :p
I like fair fight. And I've said that I cannot even SEE it. It's a 1 millimiter point extremely far away. Still, it blows me up.

Now, That's a constructive comment! :)
Many thanks Sir, I'll study your tactics for many hours to come!

:)

Probably not needed but anyway...

I start by pushing all power pips to weapons and zapping him as hard as I can. Then control my speed into the blue zone to maximise my turn rate. He's got the drop on me for turning though so I'm not going to catch him unless I do something.
I used the vertical down thruster to take me out of his turn loop and get back on his six. A bit more zapping and he's history.

Thereafter a very detailed user manual will be essential. But ED is also an instinctive game. As in life

Yeah, I know what you mean. Actually I'm using an xbox gamepad. Not bad, but not so good either. A joystick would be of good advice, I suppose.
Maybe i'll order a Cyborg fly 5...if I buy something more expensive and my wife discover it...I will not live long. LOL

Really appreciated. ;)
